The New York Knicks can thank J.R. Smith for their 21st victory of the season.
After tying the game on one possession, Smith hit an insane, fade-away, game-winning jumper in the left-hand corner to give the Knicks a 99-97 win over the Phoenix Suns as time expired Wednesday night.
Smith led the team in scoring with 27 points off the bench, but those two shots are what people will remember. He also had six rebounds and five assists.
He was supported by Jason Kidd, Tyson Chandler and Chris Copeland, all of whom scored in double figures as well. New York shared the ball and shot over 40 percent from three-point land to earn the win.
Phoenix was able to stay in the game because of Jared Dudley's 36 points and Marcin Gortat's solid defense, but it wasn't enough in the end.

Player of the Game: J.R. Smith
Smith's late-game heroics were enough to earn him this spot, but he had an excellent game overall.
His ability to come off the bench and play fearlessly cannot be overlooked. He's one of the best instant-offense guys in the league because he's never afraid to take a shot, even if it's ill-advised.
If you haven't seen the highlight of Smith's walk-off jumper, you don't want to miss it.
