After an embarrassing outing against the New York Knicks on Thursday, the Los Angeles Lakers got back on track with a 102-96 victory over the Washington Wizards on Friday.
Kobe Bryant led the Lakers with 30 points in the ballgame.
The contest was tight through two quarters, but the Lakers opened it up in the third quarter, outscoring the Wizards, 25-14.
Both teams shot well from the floor, but the Wizards hurt themselves with turnovers. The Lakers scored 26 points on 19 Washington turnovers.
This wasn't the defensive performance the Lakers have been searching for, but they did enough on offense to come away with the victory, shooting 45 percent from the floor.
Player of the Game: Kobe Bryant, SG, Los Angeles Lakers
Kobe Bryant did not shoot well from the floor, but he went 11-of-13 from the free-throw line and contributed in multiple areas, adding seven assists, seven rebounds, two steals and one block.
The Lakers were plus-17 in his 44 minutes on the floor.
