Fantasy Football Rankings at Week 9: Top 80 WRs for the Rest of 2010
Calvin Johnson’s fantasy stats are finally starting to match his talents. The star Detroit Lions wide receiver made fools out of the Washington Redskins secondary in Week 8, catching three touchdown passes and posting his second 100-yard game in a row.
He now has seven touchdown receptions in the past four weeks alone and is a must-start every week, regardless of matchup.
Moving down this week is Miami Dolphins wide receiver Brandon Marshall. Though Marshall is certainly one of the most physically gifted receivers in the NFL, his fantasy output has to be considered a bit disappointing this season.

Bengals Extending Lawrence
Though he hasn’t had any particularly bad games, Marshall has only cracked 100 yards twice this season and has only scored one touchdown in seven games.
He’s certainly the type of player who could break out for a big fantasy game at any time, but he’s going to keep moving down the rankings list if he doesn’t start getting into the end zone.
I can’t believe that Brandon Lloyd is the top fantasy wide receiver so far this season, but that’s where we’re at.
After catching just one pass in Week 7, the Broncos’ top receiver turned it on again in Week 8 as he caught 7 passes for 169 yards and a touchdown—his fifth 100-plus yard game this season.
Though he has only caught four touchdown passes, he is an every-week must start.
The “Randy Moss Factor” may finally be catching up to Wes Welker in New England. Though he was never an amazing fantasy receiver, Welker has had three straight games of five or less fantasy points since Moss left the Patriots.
He hasn’t caught a touchdown pass since Week 2 and might actually be a candidate to sit if he can’t get things going very soon.
One player on a huge fall right now is Green Bay Packers wide receiver Donald Driver. Though he has never been a huge-number receiver, his consistency has always been his biggest asset.
He has battled a quadriceps injury over the past few weeks, though, and has turned in back-to-back zero-catch performances.
He will miss this Sunday’s game against the Cowboys as he tries to get healthy, but this could the end of the line for the old guy.
