Fantasy Football Rankings at Week 9: Top 70 RBs for the Rest of 2010
Who would have thought that the two players who might be most affected by the Randy Moss situation would be the top two running backs on this list for the ninth straight week, Adrian Peterson and Chris Johnson?
While both players are excellent and were in the top two without Moss, it certainly helps Chris Johnson that the Titans added a receiver who can draw double-teams from the defense.
These two backs are ranked extremely close and Johnson might have actually gotten the nod, but with the Vikings’ bye week already passed and the Titans’ coming up this week, Adrian Peterson will actually has an extra game left which puts him just above Johnson.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Jamaal Charles continues to move up the rankings, up four spots to ninth among running backs. Even though he failed to get into the end zone last week, his 234 total yards were just fine for his fantasy owners.
The Chiefs continue to use a largely 50/50 split between Charles and Thomas Jones, but both players are effective enough to be in fantasy lineups, particularly against cupcake defenses.
Darren McFadden is back to full health, it seems, and he shoots up another six spots to 14th among running backs. He missed two games due to injury, but McFadden has had over 120 total yards in every game he has played in this season.
With Michael Bush coming back, he did concede a good number of carries last week but he remains the clear player to own out of this backfield.
The biggest move-up this week was rookie Tampa Bay Buccaneers running back LaGarrette Blount, who assaulted the Arizona Cardinals defense for 120 yards and two touchdowns last week.
He seems to have finally supplanted Cadillac Williams as the Bucs’ top rushing option which makes him a very viable fantasy option for the remainder of the season.
He moves up 22 spots this week and will go up further than that if he gets the majority of the carries again this week.
Carolina Panthers running backs DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart were once considered the league’s best fantasy backfield duo—but those days now seem far in the past.
Williams missed the team’s Week 8 matchup against the Rams, which looked like it was going to lead the way for Jonathan Stewart to once again become a fantasy force.
Stewart proceeded to disappoint his fantasy owners by rushing for just 30 yards and failing to get into the end zone. This backfield is a disaster and it’s even worse when they’re splitting carries.
This duo is very talented so there’s always the chance of resurgence, but both players are a no-go in fantasy lineups right now.
