NFL Power Rankings: St Louis Rams and 5 Worst NFL Teams

Zach KruseOct 17, 2011

In our first look at the Week 7 NFL Power Rankings, these five teams make up the basement:

28. Minnesota Vikings (1-5)

Any guarded optimism around the Vikings' 2011 season was shattered Sunday night, as Minnesota was outplayed in every facet of the game by the Bears.

Adrian Peterson only found 39 yards of room on the ground, and the scoreline got so out of hand that rookie Christian Ponder got snaps in the second half. The Vikings will have to now make a decision on who they want under center next week when the undefeated Packers come to Minnesota.

The Cardinals got a much-needed bye week to reassess what they are doing in the 2011 season. Things don't get an easier for the Cardinals as the Steelers visit Arizona next Sunday.

30. Miami Dolphins (0-4)

The Dolphins are a franchise on the brink of massive transition. Head coach Tony Sparano is all but gone, and there should be big changes on offense, starting with the quarterback.

Matt Moore starts for the first time this season tonight in New York. Unless he gives this team a spark, the Dolphins look like a team headed for four or fewer wins.

I've stayed strong on the feeling that the Colts can and will win enough games to keep themselves out of the No. 1 pick, but that confidence is started to fade. Indianapolis has lost in a myriad of ways.

At the end of the day, the Colts roster just isn't good enough to play 60 minutes with most teams. I still think the Colts can win three games at some point this season, but they'll be right there in contention for the first pick.

32. St. Louis Rams (0-5)

Injuries and a lack of playmakers across the board have handcuffed a team that should be better than 0-5. However, those two overlying factors aren't changing. The Rams simply can't threaten teams vertically on offense, and the defense is overmatched against the pass.

They played better in the second half against the Packers, but that was more a case of Green Bay checking out mentally after the first half. That game could have easily been 40-something to 3 on Sunday.
