Last-Minute Surefire Bets
Seattle at Cincinnati (-3)
On paper, this looks like a great matchup. Two smash-mouth defenses. Elite running backs. Quarterbacks who, admit it or not, can get it done when everything clicks around them, and sometimes all on their own.ย
The praise only holds up for one side of the equation through four games, though.
The Cincinnati Bengals stand as one of the league's undefeated teams thanks to Andy Dalton, who has completed 67.2 percent of his passes for 1,187 yards, nine scores, one pick and a whopping 10.2 yards per attempt.
It wouldn't a be a strong year for the Bengals without a great defense, though, and Geno Atkins' unit has already generated 11 sacks while allowing just two opponents to breach the 20-point barrier.
It's all bad news for Seattle. The Seahawks offensive line has looked like one of the worst in the league, letting up 18 sacks of Russell Wilson. Marshawn Lynch won't be around to keep the Cincinnati defensive line honest, either, per ESPN's Adam Schefter:
The news isn't as great for the defense, either, which over its first two games let up 31 and 27 points before moving into a cupcake portion of the schedule.
Cincinnati has too many weapons on offense for the Seahawks to stop, especially after traveling across the country for an early kickoff.
Prediction: Bengals 24, Seahawks 17
Washington at Atlanta (-7.5)

Washington's in some trouble, folks.
Before recent injury news, there was a thought coach Jay Gruden's team might be able to rally a strong offensive attack and keep pace with the Atlanta Falcons, road contest or not.
Not anymore.
Per Washington's official site, the offense will be without key pieces such as DeSean Jackson and Jordan Reed while the defense misses key corners such as Chris Culliver and DeAngelo Hall.
Matt Ryan won't have any problems taking advantage. It sounds like Julio Jones might not be 100 percent, but it doesn't matter against a banged-up defense at home, especially when Ryan has Devonta Freeman behind him, the guy with 252 yards and seven scores on the ground so far.
In fact, this is the best offense Ryan has had the pleasure of directing in years. The defense isn't horrible, either, with just one allowance of 28 points in an otherwise impressive start. Look for Ryan and Co. to pull away early.
Prediction: Falcons 30, Washington 20
Chicago at Kansas City (-10)

The Chicago Bears are a mess and have to travel across the country to face the Kansas City Chiefs.ย
Enough said, right?
The Bears will have Jay Cutler under center Sunday, but the center and beyond are the issue. Starting center Will Montgomery went down with a broken leg in last week's game versus the Raiders, and tackle Jermon Bushrod will miss the contest with an injury, which has prompted some serious shuffling along the line.
"It happens at a lot of positions in a lot of football games in the National Football League," coach John Fox said, per ESPN.com. "All your backups have to be ready to play in a moment's notice, particularly in the O-line because it is such a group dynamic."
The Chiefs might be 1-3, but rest assured the defense can take advantage. The unit has already generated 18 sacks and not only gets to go against multiple backups in the trenches, but also won't have to deal with Alshon Jeffery, who will miss the game with an injury, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
With Jamaal Charles on the ground and Jeremy Maclin, who has 398 yards and a score through the air, the Chiefs shouldn't have any issues pacing this contest at home against a hobbled team.
Prediction: Chiefs 30, Bears 13
