The Washington Redskins are reportedly going to be involved in acquiring Peyton Manning.

Howard Eskin of 94 WIP and NBC 10 reported via Twitter, "Told by 2 people close to Mannings that Peyton very likely to be a Redskin despite smokescreen being put of their by Skins to seek other QBs."

Many people have seen the Miami Dolphins as the front runner, but perhaps the people closest to the Manning family know best.

Eli Manning and the New York Giants would likely see an increase in competition in the NFC East. If he went to Washington, this would guarantee at least two Manning Bowls a season.

There is still a lot to be determined with Manning's health. Although his personal doctors have cleared him, he will undoubtedly be evaluated by doctors of the teams interested in signing him.

Although his neck might be structurally sound, his throwing strength might not reemerge for a while. It could be a waiting game to see how long it takes for the nerves to regenerate.

Along with the Redskins and Dolphins, the New York Jets and San Francisco 49ers are a couple of the other teams that have been rumored to be interested in Manning (via LA Times).

The Indianapolis Colts relationship with Manning is severed. It is all but official that he will not be returning, despite the admiration by the Indianapolis fans.
