NFL Power Rankings Week 11: Can Anyone Stop the Green Bay Packers?

Mikhail TurnerNov 15, 2011

While there isn't too much change in this week's NFL Power Rankings, there is one question. Who can stop the Packers?

The midway point is come and gone and the Green Bay Packers remain unbeaten.

The team has faced foes like the Chicago Bears and made them look ordinary. They have yet to face the Detroit Lions, the New York Giants and of course the 49ers will be waiting in the playoffs.

Those teams all have a good chance of stopping the Packers in their tracks. Lets take a look at the NFL Power Rankings for Week 11 and see who else has a shot.

32. Indianapolis Colts

1 of 32

The Indianapolis Colts are in pole position for the No. 1 pick as the losses continue to pile up.

31. St. Louis Rams

2 of 32

The Rams squeaked out a close one against the Cleveland Browns. It was a good response after last week's overtime loss.

30. Carolina Panthers

3 of 32

The Panthers have now lost two games in a row even with Cam Newton continuing to put up big numbers.

29. Minnesota Vikings

4 of 32

The Minnesota Vikings had a tough time of it in the second game against rival Green Bay. They were unfortunate to face the Packers after getting back into the win column in their last game.

28. Miami Dolphins

5 of 32

The win against the Washington Redskins makes it two in a row for the Dolphins.

27. Washington Redskins

6 of 32

Despite the return of Rex Grossman into the Redskins quarterback carousel, the loss to the Miami Dolphins makes it five in a row.

26. Cleveland Browns

7 of 32

Colt McCoy outgunned Sam Bradford but it wasn't enough to snap a two-game losing streak. The loss against the Rams makes it three in row.

25. Philadelphia Eagles

8 of 32

Does anyone know what is going on with these Philadelphia Eagles? The loss against the Arizona Cardinals makes it two losses in a row in what has been an up-and-down season.

24. Jacksonville Jaguars

9 of 32

The Jacksonville Jaguars added on to Indianapolis' woes with a win on Sunday.

23. Seattle Seahawks

10 of 32

The Seahawks brought the Baltimore Ravens back down to earth with a solid home performance.

22. Arizona Cardinals

11 of 32

The Arizona Cardinals somehow beat the Eagles to win two straight and gain some momentum.

21. San Diego Chargers

12 of 32

The Chargers need to get it together, and soon. The loss to the Oakland Raiders makes it four on the trot.

20. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

13 of 32

The Buccaneers are another team that started off strong only to lose its way a little.

19. Kansas City Chiefs

14 of 32

The Chiefs are a mixed bag right now.

18. Denver Broncos

15 of 32

It doesn't matter how the Broncos are winning games, the winning is all that matters.

17. Buffalo Bills

16 of 32

The Bills are on a little slide, having lost two in a row now.

16. Atlanta Falcons

17 of 32

The Falcons find themselves right in the middle of pack and need to find some consistency.

15. New York Jets

18 of 32

The Jets may finally eat a little bit of humble pie after being dismantled by the New England Patriots.

14. Oakland Raiders

19 of 32

The Oakland Raiders have been another up-and-down team so far this season and returned to the positive with a win against San Diego.

13. Tennessee Titans

20 of 32

The Titans may finally get some momentum if Chris Johnson can replicate his performance against Carolina for the remainder of the season.

12. Dallas Cowboys

21 of 32

The Dallas Cowboys have won two straight and when you look at their remaining schedule, there is no reason they cannot be in a very good position when the playoffs come around.

11. New York Giants

22 of 32

The Giants may have lost to the 49ers but they are still a threat in the NFC. They may be one of the teams that can give the Packers a scare.

Fortunately for them, they face the Packers at home but they will have to do a much better job against the pass to stand a chance. If the Giants can have the key guys back from injury in time for that game, it may be an interesting one.

10. Detroit Lions

23 of 32

The Lions also just suffered a loss but will have a very good chance against the Packers. Unlike most teams, they will have two chances to take down their NFC North rivals.

They have struggled a bit lately, but if they can get back into the win column against Carolina, they will have some confidence going into one of their biggest games of the season.

The Lions have one of the best pass defenses in the league and if they can prepare well for the Packers, the Thanksgiving showdown could be a very close game.

9. Baltimore Ravens

24 of 32

The Baltimore Ravens are still one of the top teams in the AFC, but the Seattle loss didn't do them any favors. If they make it all the way to the Super Bowl and face the Packers, the question mark will be on the offense, not the defense.

If Joe Flacco can play at an above-average level and get the ball to the likes of Ray Rice, the Packers may have some problems. Especially if the Ravens defense clamps down as they usually do.

8. Cincinnati Bengals

25 of 32

The Bengals have had a solid season so far—considering who left the team—and will want to continue surprising teams as the season goes on.

7. New England Patriots

26 of 32

The Patriots are not blowing away teams as they have in the past and seem to have lost that fear factor. It would still be foolish to discount this team at any point.

6. Chicago Bears

27 of 32

The Bears are in a good position right now. The team has won four straight and has five more games to increase their record before another showdown with the Packers.

In their four-game win streak, the Bears forced Detroit's Matthew Stafford into four interceptions. If they can continue to get that type of pressure on the quarterback and put up the points, they will be a much different team for the Packers to face the second time around.

5. Pittsburgh Steelers

28 of 32

The Steelers are where you would expect them to be at this point in the season. The defense is playing at its usual high level of play and Ben Roethlisberger continues the lead the offense. The two losses to Baltimore are a bit of a warning sign though.

It would be interesting to have a rematch of last year's Super Bowl and if that happens, the Steelers may have the edge. Their defense will surely want to put Aaron Rodgers and company in its place.

4. New Orleans Saints

29 of 32

The New Orleans Saints continue to march on as one of the top dogs in the NFC. The Saints had one surprise loss—against the St. Louis Rams—but they are in a good position. They can get the job done on defense but it is the offense led by Drew Brees that really does the trick.

While the Saints lost to the Packers in the first game of the season, if they face the Packers in the playoffs there really is no telling how the game will pan out. It will most certainly be another shoot-out and that gives the Saints a good chance.

3. Houston Texans

30 of 32

The Houston Texans face a real test from this point on with quarterback Matt Schaub done for the season. The team will hope backup Matt Leinart can help the team continue its recent trend of four straight wins.

2. San Francisco 49ers

31 of 32

These 49ers are for real. They have a solidly built offense and a defense that is first in the league in stopping the rush. The team will not face the Packers in the regular season and that may be a bad thing for the Packers.

If the 49ers can maintain their form for the rest of the season—and there is no reason they cannot—they have a good amount of time to prepare for the Packers should they meet in the playoffs. The pass defense will definitely need some fixing as they are currently 26th in the league.

1. Green Bay Packers

32 of 32

The Packers are 9-0 and still rolling. If the Packers defense can continue to replicate the type of pressure they created against Minnesota last night, they will be very formidable.
