2012 NFL Mock Draft: What Will the Kansas City Chiefs Do in Round 1?
Despite an underachieving 2011 season in which they went 7-9, the Kansas City Chiefs don't have many glaring weaknesses on their roster.
Yes, that statement hinges on safety Eric Berry, running back Jamaal Charles and tight end Tony Moeaki returning from devastating knee injuries, but for a sub-.500 team, they could be in much worse shape.
It'll be interesting to see what they do with their first-round pick.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
They'll flip a coin with the Seattle Seahawks to determine the No. 11 and No. 12 selections.
While he's not the most competent quarterback in the league, when healthy, in the right system, Matt Cassel can be reliable.
We saw that in 2010.
The running game is fine, with Charles returning. I like Jackie Battle as a change-of-pace, bruising-type third down runner. If the front office doesn't have as much faith in him, a mid-round selection can be used on a back-up runner.
If they re-sign Dwayne Bowe, they'll once again field an underrated receiving corps. The offensive line was good but not great in 2011 and could use some patchwork.
Barry Richardson is often victimized at the right tackle position and 38-year-old Casey Wiegmann could retire. They'll undoubtedly need upgrades along their offensive front to pave holes for Charles and to protect Cassel, who isn't the most elusive quarterback.
Stanford's David DeCastro wouldn't be a reach at No. 11 or 12. In fact, he'd be a fine choice.
He's the best guard prospect to enter the draft in a decade and has the size, strength, agility, technique and overall football IQ to be an impact player from Day 1.
If they'd like to add more pieces to their young and talented defense, Boston College's Luke Kuechly would be a perfect complement to 2011 Pro Bowl linebacker Derrick Johnson.
A lot of what they do in April will depend on what happens in March. No. 2 cornerback Brandon Carr is a free-agent and if he hits the open market they'll likely bring in another guy to fill his void.
Former Oakland Raiders defensive back Stanford Routt visited the team yesterday.
Which position do you believe the Chiefs should address with their first pick?
