The New York Jets have a huge game this week facing the San Diego Chargers.  The Jets are at 3-3 and this game could have huge implications for the rest of their season.

This game has been heavily built-up due to Rex Ryan and Norv Tuner bashing each other in the media, and should have a big-game feel to it.  If the Jets are to win, Darrelle Revis and these four Jets must step up this week.

Darrelle Revis

Revis Island is going to have hands full this week as he will be tasked with defending Vincent Jackson this week.

A Philip Rivers-Vincent Jackson combination could mean trouble for the Jets defense if Revis can’t lock up Jackson.

Revis can also help the Jets offense out as well.

He has one interception for a touchdown this year and Philip Rivers has more interceptions than touchdowns this year.

If Revis locks up Jackson, he can help the Jets pass defense and possibly get the Jets a defensive touchdown.

Shonn Greene

After a breakout performance in the 2009 playoffs, Shonn Greene has been a big disappointment for the New York Jets.

Greene has just 3.4 yards a carry and despite Rex Ryan wanting to establish the running game, this has not resulted positively for Greene.

If Greene can show some of the flashes of greatness he showed in the 2009 playoffs, the Jets would be able to move the ball a lot easier and he could take the pressure off the passing game.

If Greene has a good game running the ball, San Diego may start crowding the box which will open up things for Mark Sanchez.

LaDainian Tomlinson

LaDainian Tomlinson was once one of the best running backs in the league.

While the Jets aren’t expecting the old LT, they could use the LT who had almost 1,300 total yards last year.

While the Jets are going to try and establish the run with a shaky Shonn Greene, LT gives them something a little bit different.

LT can help the Jets out with the run, with his receiving yardage and can even be a threat on the halfback option.

The Jets aren’t sure what they’re going to get from Greene, but Tomlinson could get the Jets in the end zone possibly and he has three different ways to do it.

Santonio Holmes

Santonio Holmes has been very critical of the New York Jets and their offensive line in previous weeks.

While Holmes has been the center of controversy at points throughout his career, the Jets need Holmes to be the 1,000-yard receiver in Pittsburgh and not the source of contention in the locker room and media.

Even with Holmes being critical of teammates, he does not have a 100-yard receiving game yet.

This week is the week for Santonio Holmes to shut up and play like the elite wide receiver he can be.

Bonus: Rex Ryan

Rex Ryan is always good for a memorable sound bite.

Everyone has their opinions on Rex Ryan, and they all range between hilarious and incredibly arrogant.

This week, Ryan may have went towards the arrogant side by claiming if he coached the Chargers rather than Norv Turner he would have a few rings by now.

While Ryan usually has a few quick zingers for the media, this is different and he will have something to prove coming into this game.

If Turner is able to outmaneuver Ryan this week, it could kill morale for the Jets and be very humbling for Rex Ryan.
