The Green Bay Packers play host to the Denver Broncos in a Week 4 matchup at Lambeau Field. The Packers are hoping to improve to 4-0 and start the month of October off correctly with a win on their home field.
Sunday's matchup should be favorable for the Packers on your fantasy team as they look to dominate the Broncos. Many Packers have been consistent fantasy players this year, but the running back situation has made it tough on any owner.
As you look to find the right roster for the fantasy week, here are some predictions for how certain key Packers will fare against the Broncos.
Aaron Rodgers has been playing lights-out so far this season and will continue his hot-streak against the Broncos. With weapons all around including Greg Jennings, Jermichael Finley and Jordy Nelson, it is hard to imagine the heights that Rodgers could reach.
The Broncos will rely heavily on the blitz, but Rodgers has been one of the best quarterbacks against the blitz. It seems that the only way the Broncos will be able to slow Rodgers down is with a constant pass rush from up-front.
Prediction: 24/31 279 yards 3 TD 0 INT 130.98 QB rating
With a bruised kidney, it is unlikely that the Packers rush Ryan Grant back to the field this week against the Denver Broncos. Currently, Grant is listed as day-to-day, but should not be counted on in terms of fantasy production.
Unless their is a sudden change in Grant's health situation, it is doubtful that he sees the field this week.
The absence of Ryan Grant should provide James Starks with a great opportunity against the Broncos. One of the worst defenses against the run last season, the Broncos have improved and currently rank 14th, but questions still remain.
In the first three games, Starks has only averaged 10 carries a game as he has split time with Grant. Against the Broncos, Starks will see the majority of the carries, but will share the backfield at times with rookie Alex Green in his first NFL playing time.
Prediction: 21 carries 95 yards 1 TD 3 receptions 18 yards
Greg Jennings is coming off a huge game production-wise, but failed to find the end zone as Jermichael Finley hogged the touchdown passes. Jennings caught nine passes for 119 yards. He should be in for another big day against the Broncos.
In the last two games for the Broncos, they have given up tons of yardage to their opponents top targets at wide receiver. In Week 2 against the Bengals, the Broncos gave up 10 catches for 124 yards and a touchdown to rookie A.J. Green. Last week, after Kenny Britt exited with a knee injury, Matt Hasselbeck leaned on Nate Washington as his top target and completed eight passes his way for 92 yards and a score.
Prediction: 7 receptions 112 yards 1 TD
Jermichael Finley had the best game of his career last week scoring three times from Aaron Rodgers against the Chicago Bears. Finley will be hungry to keep up his solid play and find the end zone against the Broncos.
Much like they did against the Bears, the Packers will line Finley up all over the field against the Broncos to create mismatches. If the Packers are able to gain some ground in the run game, Finley could be in for another big day.
Prediction: 6 receptions 88 yards 1 TD
The Broncos have struggled putting points on the board so far this season and the trend should continue against a stout Packers defense. Although currently ranked 31st in pass yardage allowed, the Packers should be able to contain the Broncos lackluster attack.
In the first three games, the Broncos have given up eight total sacks and turned the ball over at least twice in each game for a total of seven. The Packers defense should be able to take advantage of the poor Broncos offense for some big fantasy numbers.
Prediction: 10 points allowed 4 sacks 2 INT 1 FR 1 TD
