NFL Combine 2011: Third Time's a Charm, Eh, Rex Ryan?
One of the most outspoken coaches in the NFL, Rex Ryan has done it again. Let's just see this time if he can back up his words and not look like a fool at the end of the season.
This time his words were: "I thought we'd win it the first two years. I guarantee we'll win it this year."
He also added some heart-warming words to his speech as well, to make sure everyone at home feels the same was he does:

"The reason I think we're going to win is we're going to lock arms and we're going to find a way to get this done. From players, coaches and fans, we're going to lock arms and when we do, we're going to find a way. I believe it. I think that's going to be a difference."
So what happens after next season if and when the New York Jets don't make the Super Bowl, let alone the AFC Championship or even the playoffs? Is Rex going to continue to guarantee Super Bowl wins when he cannot back up his predictions?
As much as this man might annoy football fans and people in general (I know I'll get a lot of crap from Jets fans from this), you have to admit he has guts to continue and make these outrageous predictions. He's come damn close in the past two years he's coached with the Jets. The team has lost by less than two touchdowns in the past two AFC Championship games.
Two touchdowns and Rex Ryan could be looking like not only a coach, but a wizard at the same time.
Rex Ryan has the right state of mind for his team. He wants to pump them up and amp them for next season and try to get things off on the right foot (no foot fetish reference intended).
The New York Jets don't have the easiest upcoming season, though, facing not only the AFC East—whose powerhouse New England Patriots could make the Jets' season a nightmare as they seek revenge for a AFC divisional game that should have been theirs—but the NFC East as well. The Baltimore Ravens and Jacksonville Jaguars are also on the schedule and shouldn't be taken for granted, as they could surprise the Jets.
Where they can make the best of their season is the games against the AFC West. They'll face the Denver Broncos, whose defense ranked among the worst in the NFL last season, and most likely won't have to face Nnamdi Asomugha when they match up against the Raiders.
In short, their season won't be as easy as last year's, or even the year before that (2009).
If Rex Ryan doesn't get the Super Bowl that he guarantees this next season, he might want to consider choosing his words more wisely from here on out. Go ahead, trash the other teams and their players all you want, it'll just ruin your image more. But when it comes down to trying to boost your team's morale and it fails every time, that's 10 times worse.
