Rex Grossman Will Start Over Donovan McNabb for Washington Redskins Week 15
Rex Grossman will start for Washington over Donovan McNabb Week 15 when the Redskins travel to Dallas to take on the Cowboys, according to Kelli Johnson of CSN Washington on Twitter.
Although this is not an official report, we did hear rumblings of this all week.
This comes as a complete shock considering McNabb bounced back nicely with two touchdowns at home against a good Tampa Bay Buccaneers team last week.

This is almost as bizarre as Mike Shanahan benching McNabb with the game on the line in Detroit earlier in the season. Shanahan said that Grossman was better fit for the team’s two-minute drill, which raised eyebrows across the football globe.
The best part of the move was that Rex Grossman fumbled the ball away and sealed the victory for the Detroit Lions as Ndamukong Suh recovered the ball and ran it in for a touchdown.
The Redskins then raised even more eyebrows when they rewarded McNabb with a contract extension, but could be cut after the season with no penalty. Still, how does it make sense that the franchise quarterback they have on board is being benched for an even worse quarterback? Rex Grossman is not the answer in Washington and Shanahan should know that already, no need for an audition.
Simply put, it doesn’t.
This is just another example of how embarrassing the Washington Redskins season has gone. This is a prime example of why the Redskins continue to be a bottom dwelling team for the most part.
Grossman hasn’t started a full season since 2006-2007 when he took the Chicago Bears to the Super Bowl, losing to Peyton Manning’s Indianapolis Colts. That season he threw 24 touchdowns, 20 interceptions and 3193 yards with five fumbles lost.
The following year he played in just eight games, throwing for 1411 yards, four touchdowns, seven interceptions and three fumbles lost.
Donovan McNabb, if he doesn’t play again this season, will finish with 3377 yards on 58.3 completion percentage with 14 touchdowns and 15 interceptions with one fumble lost.
Rex Grossman will face a Dallas Cowboys team that has played far better under interim head coach Jason Garrett over the past month.
Although the Cowboys have been in shootout after shootout under Garrett, it could very well be a long day for Rex Grossman and the Washington Redskins in Dallas this Sunday afternoon.
