The defense of Oakland ended a 13 games losing streak ! Raiders now headed to SF

The Oakland Raiders played a defensive game against their nemesis, the San Diego Chargers and ended a thirteen game losing streak!! The Raider defense once again showed that they are solid. San Diego RB Matthew Ryan and RB Tolbert were literally stopped in their tracks.

During the first quarter of play the Oakland Raider defense blocked two kicks, got a safety and a TD to lead the Chargers 12-0.There was also the fumble near the SD end-zone after a Phillip Rivers drive.

Although Phillip Rivers threw for over 300 yards, the Raiders defense created turnovers and the Raiders were rewarded with points.

Michael Bush was a huge factor gaining over 100 yds and pounding away at the SD Chargers defensive line. WR Zach Miller was outstanding and caught a TD pass from Jason Campbell.

One weakness in play was the coverage of CB Chris Johnson. Chris Johnson continually bit on the route beneath and left WR Malcom Floyd open for over 100 yds and a TD.

It was great to finally see a Raider team working on all cylinders. Aside from the CB issue the team looked great and should have success across the bay next week.

QB Jason Campbell showed promise. His success was due in large part to the running power of Michael Bush. Michael Bush and Frank Gore will battle for yards in next weeks game when they meet in San Francisco.

Campbell might QB for the Raiders in next week's game versus the San Francisco 49ers. The running strengths of Michael Bush should open passing lanes for Jason Campbell; expect Darrius Heyward Bey to have a strong game. However, if Gradkowski returns then I would say a definite win with TD passes to Louis Murphy and DHB. Cross your fingers.

The Silver and Black needed a win today and it was well-deserved. The Oakland Raiders seem to improve weekly; there are less mistakes on offense and the turnovers are frequent on defense. Tom Cable has said that the team needs to dominate the AFC West in its trek to the Championship game. Today's game impressed just that. Michael Bush powered through the line and on the other side of the ball, Seymour, Wimbley, McClain and Kelly held up well.

Although the Silver and Black defense was able to stop Ryan Matthews and Tolbert, it will be a true test to stop the powerful Frank Gore. The Oakland Raiders should be able to defeat the 49ers at home 30-14.
