LT and Mark Sanchez’s Performance

If LaDainian Tomlinson fails to perform at a higher level than he did for the Chargers last season many will question why the team parted ways with Thomas Jones . This roster switch will be compounded with further criticism if second-year quarterback Mark Sanchez fails to build on his numbers from his rookie season.

Sure, Sanchez had a strong playoff run as he managed games and made timely throws to help his team get to the AFC Championship game. While that performance is a positive, New York fans won’t tolerate the interception to touchdown ratio he had in the regular season once again this year.

The Jets finished nine and seven on the season and could have easily had two more wins if not for some horrible games by the rookie.

If these two players should struggle don’t be surprised if coaching staff leans on young stud running back Shonn Greene to carry the offense.

Fortunately for Sanchez the addition of Santonio Holmes gives him one of the best receiving cores in football. Now, this passing attack has to develop chemistry.

Cromartie an upgrade, really?

Rex Ryan grew tired of Lito Sheppard as a starting corner opposite star Darrelle Revis and benched him in the playoffs. This led to the Jets trading for ultra-talented, yet troubled Antonio Cromartie from the Chargers .

Three seasons ago Cromartie had a great year as he led the league in interceptions and seemed to have a bright future. Since that time Cromarite has struggled in a starting role and now the Jets are hopeful he can turn things around in a new environment.

If Cromartie is up to the task the Jets' defense should be the top fantasy defense to have in 2010. On the other hand, if he struggles, teams will pick on him all year long and the Jets' defense will struggle against strong offenses.
