NFL Power Rankings: Week 12 Standings and Review After Sunday's Games
It's hard to believe that Week 11 of the 2016 NFL season is nearly over, with the exception of Monday night's game featuring the Houston Texans and Oakland Raiders, but some teams are still on the fringe of whether they're contenders or pretenders.
One thing is certain after 11 weeks, however, and that is the Cleveland Browns are now officially out of the playoff picture, per NFL Research:

2027 NFL Mock Draft Way-Too-Early Predictions

1 Word for Every Team's 2026 Draft ☝️
With a record of 0-11, the Browns not making the playoffs is a surprise to no one. But what is a surprise is how bad they actually are. When the Detroit Lions went 0-16 back in 2008, they at least tried to play and had some games that were relatively close.
But this Browns team? It's a total rebuild that has no clear end in sight, leaving some Browns fans wondering if they could even beat the best college football team in the nation, the Alabama Crimson Tide:
The Browns are clearly the worst team in the NFL through 11 weeks, but how does the rest of the league shape up?
Let's take a look at my power rankings after Sunday's slate of games.

Climbing: New York Giants (7-3)
Don't look now, but the New York Giants are one of the best teams in the league this season.
They're flying under the radar because they're stuck in second in the NFC East thanks to the Dallas Cowboys' incredible run thus far, but a 7-3 record is something to pay attention to.
The Giants offense has a lot of weapons with Eli Manning, Odell Beckham Jr., Rashad Jennings and Sterling Shepard, but it's been New York's defense that has stolen the spotlight so far this season.
Allowing 20.4 points per game, New York's defense is tied for ninth in the NFL in points allowed per game and is tied for fifth in the league with 10 interceptions, according to NFL.com.
The Giants' five-game win streak is likely to become six next week when they take on the Browns, so they could keep rising in the power rankings over the next couple of weeks.
Falling: Cincinnati Bengals (3-6-1)
It's been a rough season for the Cincinnati Bengals.
Inconsistency, close games and, worst of all, injuries have hampered what should've been a year that involved a deep playoff push.
It was already bad when USA Today's Tom Pelissero reported Bengals running back Giovani Bernard tore his left ACL during Sunday's 16-12 loss to the Buffalo Bills, but then Jay Morrison of Cox Media Group reported star wideout A.J. Green hurt his hamstring and was seen limping after the game.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport later confirmed the team's worst fears:
There is no point in Green trying to play the rest of the season; pushing to come back early from this type of hamstring injury could set him back further down the road. The season is lost for the Bengals. With just three wins in 10 games, it wouldn't be a surprise to hear rumblings of the departure of head coach Marvin Lewis. Fox Sports' Skip Bayless offered his thoughts:
Rest players, keep them healthy, don't overexert players who don't need to play every snap. While there are still six weeks left in the season, it's time to start looking ahead to next season for Bengals fans.
