Arizona Cardinals Dominate New York Jets on Monday Night Football
- The Arizona Cardinals went to running back David Johnson, who tallied 111 yards and three touchdowns, early and often in a 28-3 victory over the New York Jets on Monday. "Masterful running by David Johnson," The MMQB's Albert Breer tweeted. "Given Carson Palmer's inconsistencies, might be time to center the offense around him."

Geno Smith Replaces Ryan Fitzpatrick for the New York Jets
- After running his ratio of touchdowns to interceptions to a dismal 5-to-11 on the season, the Jets replaced quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick with backup Geno Smith. The former West Virginia star completed four of his six passes for 31 yards, one interception and no touchdowns.

Colin Kaepernick to Remain Starter for San Francisco 49ers
- San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick had his first start of the season Sunday, completing 13 of 29 passes for 187 yards and a touchdown in a 45-16 loss to the Buffalo Bills. On Monday, head coach Chip Kelly announced Kaepernick will start this week's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, per the team.

Big 12 to Stay at 10 Teams
- ESPN.com's Jake Trotter wrote: "After three months of exploring the option, the Big 12 voted Monday to remain at 10 members and not expand. According to Big 12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby, the vote was unanimous among the league's presidents and chancellors."

Carson Palmer Leaves Monday Night Football with Hamstring Injury
- After leaving Monday night's game against the Jets, Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer's status for Week 7 against the Seattle Seahawks is unknown. "I don't think it's that severe," Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians said following the win, per Around The NFL.
