Fantasy Football Week 11: Tuesday's Daily Fantasy Market Report

Richard JanvrinNov 15, 2016

No, I did not expect the few days after Week 10's fantasy football slate to be all that exhilarating, but we were all hit with shocking news.

Since I'm the master of cliffhangers, you'll just have to read this slideshow to find out (but I'm sure you already have, I mean come on).

Anyway, we are set to see a familiar Seattle Seahawks running back make his return this week, which should cause another twist in the ever-evolving Seahawks running back depth chart.

It's too early in the week to completely rule out players with injuries, but we need to get prepared nonetheless.

Let's get ready for Week 11, shall we?

Texans WR Will Fuller 'Optimistic' About Week 11 Return

1 of 8

According to Aaron Wilson of the Houston ChronicleHouston Texans rookie wide receiver Will Fuller is optimistic about a Week 11 return after missing the team's Week 10 contest.

When asked about his leg injury, Fuller said, "Yeah, I'm going to get back in that training room and try to get it back to feeling right. It's getting a lot better."

Over his last three games, Fuller has combined for just 49 receiving yards and no touchdowns.

With the way quarterback Brock Osweiler is playing, it's hard to trust the Texans offense right now.

Heck, in Week 10 without Fuller, fellow wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins caught just five passes for 48 yards and was held out of the end zone—not to mention Osweiler only threw for 99 yards.

When Fuller returns, I'm not touching him. Osweiler stinks.

Seahawks RB Thomas Rawls Ready to Go

2 of 8

Pinch me, I'm dreaming.

According to Liz Mathews of ESPN, Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said that running back Thomas Rawls is practicing to play this week.

Having not played since Week 2 due to a fibula injury, Rawls is set to make his return in Week 11, and this is as good a time as any.

In Week 10, running back C.J. Prosise was the lead back, playing in 77 percent of the team's snaps while accumulating 24 touches (17 carries, seven receptions).

Though Prosise is a legitimate pass-catching back, he's not the best every-down back—a role that fellow running back Christine Michael had assumed, but has seemingly lost due to ineffectiveness.

Rawls should get a chance to assume the majority of the carries out of the backfield, but it's safe to assume he could be on a snap count.

The Seahawks draw the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 11—a team that gives up the 10-fewest fantasy points to opposing running backs.

Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald DTD; Expected to Play in Week 11

3 of 8

According to Darren Urban of the Arizona Cardinals' official site, head coach Bruce Arians confirmed that wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald is sore and day-to-day with a knee injury, but is expected to practice and play in Week 11.

There's little cause for concern here outside of the Cardinals' opponent in Week 11: the Minnesota Vikings.

Yeah, the Vikings are on a massive losing streak right now and the defense is struggling, but they are still not a defense to take lightly.

Fitzgerald doesn't have a ton of upside in this matchup, but he offers a reasonable floor.

With that said, at his price tag, I'll likely look elsewhere.

Steelers WR Markus Wheaton to See Shoulder Specialist

4 of 8

It appears that the Pittsburgh Steelers could be without one of their wide receivers for the remainder of the season.

According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com, Steelers wide receiver Markus Wheaton is set to see a shoulder specialist.

Wheaton, who has not played since Week 5, was supposed to be an underrated fantasy asset this season, but with just four catches in three games, that obviously doesn't cut it.

After fellow wide receiver Antonio Brown, there's a lot left to be desired on the depth chart.

Getting Wheaton back would be helpful to the Steelers, but we should know more after this visit.

Again, the worst-case scenario is that he is done for the season.

I'm not an expert, but there is a better chance of the sun not rising tomorrow morning than Wheaton suiting up this week.

Bears WR Alshon Jeffery Suspended 4 Games

5 of 8

I'm at a loss for words. I cannot believe this!

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Chicago Bears wide receiver Alshon Jeffery has been suspended four games for violating the league's performance-enhancing drug policy.

This is, of course, a major shock—we never expect this kind of news to come out regarding a star player like Jeffery, but here are.

Behind Jeffery, the Bears will use a triumvirate consisting of wide receivers Eddie Royal and Cam Meredith, as well as tight end Zach Miller.

At quarterback, the Bears have a rather unreliable asset in Jay Cutler, so the upside for the receivers is somewhat limited.

With Jeffery set to be a free agent this offseason, this could also impact his long-term contract chances.

Going up against the New York Giants in Week 11, Meredith and Miller are the first two in the pecking order, though Royal does offer some points-per-reception upside.

Bears Sticking with Jay Cutler at QB

6 of 8

Even after a brutal outing in Week 10 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Chicago Bears are sticking with Jay Cutler at quarterback, according to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune.

This likely has a lot to do with Matt Barkley being the only other alternative. If Brian Hoyer were healthy, Cutler would likely be benched by now.

Again, this was a terrible outing for Cutler, who threw for less than 200 yards, one touchdown and had four turnovers in Week 10.

With wide receiver Alshon Jeffery suspended for four games, Cutler's receiving depth has taken quite a hit.

Cutler has a fairly nice schedule coming up, but as we have seen in good matchups, he can flounder and cost you an entire fantasy week.

He's off all fantasy radars.

Redskins WR DeSean Jackson to Return in Week 11?

7 of 8

After missing Week 10 due to a shoulder injury, it appears that Washington Redskins wide receiver DeSean Jackson could play in Week 11, according to John Keim of ESPN.com

“We’ve got to get him healthy first,” Redskins head coach Jay Gruden said. “He has to feel good about his shoulder and he has to have the strength back. An injured DeSean won’t do us much good. We’ve got to make sure he’s 100 percent ready to roll.”

Even if Jackson does suit up in Week 11, he has not scored since Week 3 and is only averaging 35 receiving yards per game over his last five.

With the emergence of fellow wide receiver Jamison Crowder and the presence of tight end Jordan Reed, DJax is not much of a fantasy asset.

In Week 11, you'd be banking on a deep bomb from quarterback Kirk Cousins against a beat-up Green Bay Packers secondary for him to be relevant.

Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski Suffers Chest Injury in Week 10 Loss

8 of 8

Contrary to prior reports of a potential punctured lung, it now sounds like New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski just suffered a chest injury in the team's 31-24 loss to the Seattle Seahawks and is considered "not overly serious," according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

If the reports of it not being a punctured lung are true, Gronk should be good to go for Week 11. However, it's still early in the week, and considering the Patriots are going up against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 11, the Patriots could hold Gronk out if he's still experiencing discomfort.

Damn. I guess the hit that Seahawks safety Earl Thomas laid on Gronk was worse than first expected either way.

If Gronk plays, you need to start him. If not, this makes fellow tight end Martellus Bennett that much more valuable.
