Fantasy Football Week 10: Tuesday's Daily Fantasy Market Report

Richard JanvrinNov 8, 2016

It's Week 10 of the 2016 fantasy football season and here we are: Denver Broncos running back Kapri Bibbs is a thing.

Man, do I love this damn game.

There were quite a few news nuggets post-Week 9 that will alter our Week 10 plans. There were also a few pieces of information that are the usual cloudy news bits that will drive us nuts throughout the week.

Hey—how about that Monday Night Football game? Not bad for a prime time NFL game, am I right? Hopefully this trend can continue.

Who doesn't want good football?

It's Nov. 8—get out and vote and get this election over with! That's something we can all agree on.

Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick Has MCL Sprain

1 of 8

According to Rich Cimini of ESPN, New York Jets quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick suffered an MCL sprain in the teams' Week 9 loss to the Miami Dolphins.

Although Jets head coach Todd Bowles cited this injury as "day-to-day," we have to figure there's a decent chance Fitzpatrick misses Week 10 or so.

If Fitzpatrick does miss time, we get to see backup quarterback Bryce Petty.

Here is my analysis of Petty in DFS this week going up against the Los Angeles Rams: Ha. Haha. Hahaha. Hahahahaha. Ha.

Seriously, though. I'm not a fan of any of these Jets players with Petty at the helm.

Broncos RB Kapri Bibbs to See More Work?

2 of 8

You're probably asking yourself this question: "Who the hell is Denver Broncos running back Kapri Bibbs?"

If you're asking this question, don't feel bad—you're not alone.

Quick background on Bibbs ($4,000 DraftKings; $4,600 FanDuel): he was an undrafted free agent in 2014 out of Colorado State.

In Week 9, Bibbs burst onto the scene with a long touchdown run.

According to Mike Klis of 9News, we should expect Bibbs to be the guy in Week 10 against the New Orleans Saints. Also, Cameron Wolfe of the Denver Post points out that Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak has said Bibbs has earned more work.

Man, do I hate this situation. Bibbs is really cheap and it is the Saints, so I'd punt him I suppose. But I'm not crazy about it.

Texans WR Will Fuller 'Day-to-Day; with Leg Injury

3 of 8

According to Deepi Sidhu of the Houston Texans official team site, Texans head coach Bill O'Brien has deemed wide receiver Will Fuller as day-to-day with a leg injury.

This is the same leg injury that forced Fuller to leave Week 8 after hauling in just one of his four targets for 23 yards.

Fuller has been a fun player to watch this season with his blazing speed, but unfortunately for him, his quarterback is playing like Ryan Leaf these days.

After a juicy matchup with the Detroit Lions that was just a potential fantasy gift for the Texans, Brock Osweiler blew it.

I'm passing on this offense.

Redskins RB Matt Jones Is Taking a Back Seat

4 of 8

The backfield for the Washington Redskins seems to belong to Rob Kelley now.

According to Mike Jones of the Washington Post, Redskins head coach Jay Gruden has said Kelley will get the "bulk of the carries" and fellow running back Matt Jones "will have to earn his way back."

Jones has a history of fumbling and quite frankly hasn't been all that productive.

Going up against a Minnesota Vikings team coming off back-to-back losses, I'm just deleting the entire Redskins backfield from my lineup builders.

No, thank you.

Jaguars WR Allen Hurns in Concussion Protocol

5 of 8

The Jacksonville Jaguars could be without one of their better skill position players in Week 10.

According to John Oehser of the Jaguars' official team site, wide receiver Allen Hurns is in the concussion protocol.

Last year and 2016 have been like night and day for the Jaguars offense. Hurns and fellow wide receiver Allen Robinson ($7,000 DK; $7,000 FD) were thought of as the best young tandem in the NFL, but boy oh boy has quarterback Blake Bortles aborted that mission.

With Hurns out, you'd have to think this would mean more looks for Robinson.

The Jaguars will face off against the Houston Texans in Week 10. Hopefully Bortles can get the ball to ARob this week.

Chiefs WR Jeremy Maclin to Miss Some Time

6 of 8

After leaving the teams' Week 9 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars with a groin injury, the outlook on Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Jeremy Maclin's future does not sound good.

According to Terez Paylor of the Kansas City Star, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said Maclin could "miss more time" with his injury.

Groin injuries are, in general, quite tricky. For Reid to come out on a Monday and concede that Maclin could miss time is telling.

With Maclin out, you'd expect more targets to tight end Travis Kelce ($5,600 DK; $6,300 FD), but this Chiefs offense led by quarterback Alex Smith is simply vanilla.

Kelce is appealing in Week 10 considering there are hardly any other weapons.

Eagles HC Doug Pederson Admits Darren Sproles Is Lead Back

7 of 8

Philadelphia Eagles running back Ryan Mathews may have scored the touchdown in Week 9 out of the Eagles' backfield, but head coach Doug Pederson has different plans at running back moving forward.

According to Reuben Frank of CSNPhilly, Pederson has said veteran running back Darren Sproles ($4,300 DK; $5,100 FD) is the lead back moving forward.

Looking at the Week 9 snap totals, Sproles out-snapped Mathews 60-8, garnering 16 touches.

With his lead back role, coupled with his receiving ability, Sproles is definitely on my DFS radar when the Eagles host the Atlanta Falcons.

Rams HC Jeff Fisher: RB Todd Gurley 'Not Getting Enough Carries'

8 of 8

It's been a tough season thus far for Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley ($5,300 DK; $7,000 FD), but never fear—Rams head coach Jeff Fisher is here (uh oh).

According to Gary Klein of the Los Angeles Times, Fisher has said Gurley needs to get more carries.

Gurley has received more than 20 carries in just two games this season.

Given his talent and ability, Gurley definitely needs the ball more, but it's tough for him to run considering the Rams offense surrounding him.

Not to be rude, but when your best wide receiver is Kenny Britt and your starting quarterback is Case Keenum, Gurley is going to be the major target for the defense.

Going up against the Jets in Week 10—a team that just got gashed for over 100 yards by Miami Dolphins running back Jay Ajayi in Week 9—Gurley will have a tough task.

Yeah, Ajayi burned the Jets, but that run defense is still nothing to mess with.

Gurley is going to pop one of these weeks. I'll throw him in a couple lineups. His price is really low.
