Curry Reportedly on the Trading Block
Monday, Nov. 2
Jason Cole of Bleacher Report tweeted on Monday that he was hearing "Vinny Curry could be had in trade," which followed a similar report from ESPN's Adam Schefter on Sunday.
Curry isn't convinced there is any truth to those reports, however.
"I haven't heard anything," he told Mark Eckel for NJ Advance Media on Sunday while responding to Schefter's report by simply saying, "That's crazy."
Curry, 27, has four tackles and a sack on the season, though Philadelphia utilizes him as a situational pass-rusher in its 3-4 scheme , and he sees the field sparingly. He's undoubtedly a talented pass-rusher and generally makes his presence felt when he's on the field, however, and he has the versatility to pressure the quarterback both as a defensive end and as an interior lineman.
It would be somewhat surprising if the Eagles moved him given his effectiveness on obvious passing downs, though the team could dangle him in the hopes of solidifying a different position of need. Still, Curry has been the subject of trade rumors in the past and wasn't dealt, so it seems more likely he'll remain with the Eagles again unless a team on the market in desperate need of pass-rushing help makes Philly a big offer.
