Eli Manning Becomes 16th Player with 250 Career Touchdown Passes
With his third and final touchdown pass in Sunday's 31-28 loss to the Dallas Cowboys, Eli Manning of the New York Giants became the 16th player in NFL history to reach 250 career passing touchdowns, per pro-football-reference.com.
Manning entered the game with 247, tied with Boomer Esiason for 16th place on the all-time list. The longtime Giants signal-caller quickly moved past Esiason for sole possession of 16th, finding rookie wide receiver Odell Beckham for a three-yard touchdown on Big Blue's first drive.
Beckham later made an incredible one-handed grab for a 43-yard score on the first play of the second quarter, giving Manning 249 passing touchdowns for his career.

While not nearly as spectacular as No. 249, Manning's 250th career touchdown gave the Giants a 28-24 lead at the three-minute mark of the fourth quarter, with tight end Adrien Robinson on the receiving end of the one-yard pass.
Manning finished the game with 28 completions for 338 yards and three touchdowns on 40 pass attempts, but he may still be haunted by some missed opportunities in the second half.
Notably, with the Giants up 21-17 and driving in the red zone late in the third quarter, Manning overthrew a wide-open Preston Parker, who accidentally tipped the ball to Cowboys safety Barry Church for a game-altering interception. A more accurate throw might have resulted in Manning's 250th touchdown or at least set him up to hit the milestone within the next few plays.
He instead reached the mark in the fourth quarter and then watched Tony Romo hit Dez Bryant for the game-winning touchdown.
Manning did get one last chance to drive the Giants downfield, but running back Rashad Jennings was stopped short of the marker on a 4th-and-2 reception, ending the Giants' dreams of pulling off the upset.
