2012 NFL Predictions: Over-Under Win Totals to Bet the Farm On
Betting over/under totals for the NFL season can be an extremely rewarding process. Identifying teams you feel will outperform expectations or underwhelm over the course of 16 games not only gives you weeks of entertaining, it can be quite lucrative down the line.
In 2012, there are a number of teams that look like they will fall on a certain side of the bookmakers set total of wins, which is why you need to jump on these early and make sure you earn a nice pay day right before the playoffs start.
Here’s a look at three teams that you should make a big O/U wager on for win totals.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Over 5.5 Wins
This team has a competent head coach now in Greg Schiano, a rejuvenated QB in Josh Freeman and a number of new defensive pieces in place.
The Buccaneers were a sleeper postseason team in 2011 before they decided to quit on Raheem Morris and compile the worst turnover margin in the league.
If they can hold onto the football and trust in Schiano’s system, there is no way that the Buccaneers will win less than six games.
New England Patriots – Under 12.5 Wins
The Pats only won 13 games on the way to the Super Bowl in 2011, which makes it hard to believe they will accomplish that feat once again.
Even with the easiest schedule in the league this year, it’s unlikely that Tom Brady and Bill Belichick hit that mark.
With those two in place, the team has never had three 13-plus-win seasons in a row. It’s a tall task, and eventually the Pats are going to have to slow down and start resting players in the mid-to-late portions of the year in order to make another Super Bowl run.
Expect 11 wins from NE this season.
Jacksonville Jaguars – Under 5 Wins
The Jags are simply a bad football team. They doled out numerous bad contracts this season and overpaid for system players at key spots (such as Aaron Ross at corner and Laurent Robinson at WR).
Blaine Gabbert hasn’t shown us that he’s a franchise QB and Maurice Jones-Drew has yet to negotiate a way to get back on the field in 2012.
With all of those factors in place, the Jaguars are going to struggle to win three games this year.
