In a copycat league, the use of multiple tight ends in offenses is on the rise. Two teams that will utilize two tight end sets are the Broncos and Bears. Below I have a tight end from both squads that should help your team.

First is Jacob Tamme of the Broncos, he’s more of an H-back option that will line up in the slot, in the backfield and be used in motion. Manning will move him around to exploit miss-matches in the defense.

Second is Kellen Davis of the Bears, who is more of your traditional inline option. Davis has the skills to be a top fifteen fantasy tight end and should be an active target in the red zone.

Tamme A TE1 With Manning As His Quarterback

Jacob Tamme is reunited with his old quarterback Peyton Manning. Tamme filled in well a few years back when Dallas Clark was injured and he will serve as the joker tight end in this offense.

While the Broncos have two talented outside receivers in Eric Decker and Demaryius Thomas, I question their overall receiving depth, and this could mean Tamme is on the field most of the time.

In the Broncos first preseason action, Manning looked Tamme’s way often and this could be a continuing trend because of their chemistry and Manning’s reluctance to throw down field.

His current ADP trends as the 8th tight end (7.10, 12 team) may be a little high in standard leagues, but it could be fair in PPR leagues . Tamme will be active in the offense, but he’s not a game-breaking tight end.

Kellen Davis Has New Life

Finally, Mike Martz is gone and with Greg Olsen being traded last year, Davis will get regular playing time as the starter. Davis can make an impact in fantasy leagues, so look for offensive coordinator Mike Tice to get him involved weekly.

The Bears seem primed to throw the football more as they’ve loaded up at receiver and with Martz gone, they can utilize the tight end position. Backup rookie Evan Rodriguez will serve as the teams H-back as a movable piece, but look to Davis as the tight end to own.
