Denver Broncos Mock Draft: 7 Rounds, Following Transactions

The Denver Broncos made a seismic transaction when they signed free agent quarterback Peyton Manning, and caused even more rumbles when they traded Tim Tebow to the New York Jets.

However, the Broncos made several other key acquisitions thus far. They signed tight ends Joel Dreessen and Jacob Tamme, wide receiver Andre Caldwell and cornerback Tracy Porter.

They filled their tight end need, and can push back drafting a high-round wideout or corner until 2013 or 2014 if they want to do so.

Denver now is prepared to make a run for the title. They need bolstering at certain areas and solidification at others, but after a productive draft, the Broncos have a strong chance of representing the American Football Conference next February in the reverberating Superdome.

Round One, 25th Overall: Fletcher Cox, DT, Mississippi State

The Broncos' biggest need is undoubtedly at defensive tackle.

DT Brodrick Bunkley decided to sign with the Saints, turning an already weak position into a glaringly thin one. In order to make a Super Bowl run in 2013, the Broncos need to bolster this position immensely.

If the Broncos are playing deep in the playoffs, teams will be pounding the ball with their ground games. The Broncos need to make sure they can thwart the run.

Cox is an absolute monster, and would immediately fill the Broncos' biggest need. 

Round Two, 57th Overall: Doug Martin, RB, Boise State

The Broncos need a young running back who possesses an eloquent arsenal of football tools.

Doug Martin was a star running back and return specialist while playing for the Boise State Broncos. 

Martin has an explosive burst and nifty footwork that makes defenders go crazy. Denver has Willis McGahee, but he is nearing the end of his career. Martin runs with a similar style to McGahee, also.

Martin would be yet another target for Manning and would make the Broncos' offense very dynamic. 

Round Three, 87th Overall: Nick Toon, WR, Wisconsin

Yes, the Broncos signed Andre Caldwell and already have a young wideout core featuring Eric Decker and Demaryius Thomas, but take a look at the Saints' or Green Bay Packers' offenses.

Both teams recently won Super Bowls, and they did so with prolific, star-studded offenses coined by their quarterbacks and receiving cores.

The Broncos already have a future Hall of Fame quarterback, but one more receiver would make the Denver attack incredibly dynamic.

With Manning, Ryan Clady, Chris Kuper, Nick Toon, Thomas, Decker, Caldwell, Dreessen, Tamme, McGahee and possibly Martin, the Broncos would be looking at a Super Bowl offense.

Round Four, 108th Overall Via NYJ: Coryell Judie, CB, Texas A&M

Coryell Judie is a highly underrated corner whose stock is falling because of injury concerns.

Judie is also a prime returner, and would have an immediate impact on the Broncos.

Yes, Judie would be fourth on the Broncos' 2012 cornerback depth chart, but Andre' Goodman likely won't be a Bronco for much longer, as his contract is up in 2014. Porter's contract is also only for one year. Judie would get immense playing time following his rookie season.

When Champ Bailey (who, like Goodman, is 33 years old) retires, Judie could emerge as the top corner. Nickelback Chris Harris is also a bright, young player in the Broncos' cornerback core, so the tandem could be top-notch group of CBs.

Round Four, 120th Overall: Philip Blake, C, Baylor

The Broncos need some help at center.

JD Walton has struggled in his career thus far, so bringing in another center is a must.

Walton and Philip Blake would battle it out for the starting nod, and the loser would have to sit on the bench and fight to climb up the depth chart.

Blake would be brought in for competition.

Round Five, 137th Overall Via STL: Antoine McClain, OG, Clemson

If the NFL is about quarterbacks, the Broncos need to protect theirs with great caution.

With a quarterback who has had neck surgery four times in the past 20 months, it can be nerve-wracking for the offensive line and coaches.

McClain would be an insurance policy if Kuper—who suffered a horrid ankle injury—never gets back to 100 percent. McClain will definitely be a backup in his first year, but who knows? He may emerge as a starter in the future.

Round Six, 188th Overall Via NYJ: DeAngelo Tyson, DT, Georgia

This late in the draft, it's about finding players with a decent chance of making the final roster.

Tyson is a solid pass rusher who had 36 tackles in 2010. Here, NFL Draft Scout has a great scouting report on him.

Notably, Tyson blocked an extra point against South Carolina, which saved Georgia's one point lead. The DT is coming off of an injury, though.
