NFL 2009 Mock Draft Through Round Four: Who's the New No. 1?

The regular season is over and we are now making our way into the playoffs and closer to the NFL Draft.

I have now added a fourth round of mock drafting to spice up the mix.

Please enjoy!

ROUND ONE

1. Detroit Lions: Sam Bradford, Quarterback, Oklahoma

Detroit is coming off the worst season in NFL history. Winless went the Lions because overall they have no star power besides Calvin Johnson. The Lions need a quarterback badly. Sam Bradford has not decided whether he will go pro, but if he does, he will go No. 1.

2. St. Louis Rams: Andre Smith, Offensive Tackle, Alabama

St. Louis for the second straight year has the second overall pick in the draft. Orlando Pace is 34 and can never seem to stay healthy. Andre Smith is the best offensive tackle in the draft and will be a great blocker for years to come.

3. Kansas City Chiefs: Brian Orakpo, Defensive End, Texas

Kansas City was amongst the bottom of the league in sacks forced. After trading away Jared Allen, they lacked a true pass rush. Brian Orakpo is the best pass rusher in college football and would go great with the Chiefs.

4. Seattle Seahawks: Michael Crabtree, Wide Receiver, Texas Tech

Seattle was a big disappointment this year because of their lack of explosiveness on offense. Deion Branch is a good receiver when healthy, which is rare. The Seahawks need a true No. 1 receiver, and they will get it with sure-handed Michael Crabtree.

5. Cleveland Browns: Aaron Curry, Outside/Inside Linebacker, Wake Forest

Cleveland's linebackers are awful, and with Willie McGinest likely to retire, they will get even worse. Aaron Curry's stock is rising fast up the charts after his great performance in their bowl game.

6. Cincinnati Bengals: Michael Oher, Offensive Tackle, Ole Miss

The Bengals have a pretty bad offensive line. Besides Cedric Benson's 171-yard explosion, they were pretty pathetic at running the ball all year. Michael Oher is a beast who hardly ever gives up a sack and can create holes for running backs.

7. Oakland Raiders: Malcolm Jenkins, Cornerback, Ohio State

Nnamdi Asomugha could be leaving for another team when free agency begins, which leaves Oakland thin at cornerback. Oakland made a mistake in cutting DeAngelo Hall in my opinion. Malcolm Jenkins is the best cornerback in the draft and would start right away in Oakland.

8. Jacksonville Jaguars: Rey Maualuga, Inside Linebacker, USC

Mike Peterson could be departing for free agency, and with the way he and coaches didn't get along this year, there is a good chance he won't be back. Rey Maualuga won best defensive player of the year in college in 2008 which cements his status in the Top 10.

9. Green Bay Packers: Michael Johnson, Defensive End, Georgia Tech

Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila was cut early in the season, which left the Packers with no pass rush besides Aaron Kampman. Green Bay needs another defensive end after the way they let running backs run all over them.

10. San Francisco 49ers: Eugene Monroe, Offensive Tackle, Virginia

San Francisco needs a lot of help on offense. Their offensive line is horrendous. Eugene Monroe will be a steal here for the 49ers. They will finally land a franchise offensive tackle and allow Shaun Hill or whoever their quarterback is to stay on his feet.

11. Buffalo Bills: Everette Brown, Defensive End, Florida State

Buffalo lacks a strong pass rush. They finished the year with only 24 sacks. Aaron Schobel missed a big portion of the year, and he is getting older and more worn down. Everette Brown is 6-foot-4, 252 pounds, which means he could play at linebacker if needed.

12. Denver Broncos: Taylor Mays, Safety, USC

Denver's weakness on defense was their secondary giving up huge pass plays. Josh Barrett is safe to stay in Denver, but the rest need to go. Taylor Mays is hard-hitting and if you saw his hit in the Rose Bowl, you'll agree.

13. Washington Redskins: James Laurinaitis, Inside Linebacker, Ohio State

There is a good chance that Laurinaitis would be moved to outside linebacker to replace Marcus Washington, who had an off year. James Laurinaitisis an intelligent and tough football player with a big desire to win.

14. New Orleans Saints: Brandon Spikes, Inside Linebacker, Florida

This pick will be forfeited to the New York Jets if the Saints decide to re-sign free-agent to be Jonathan Vilma. There is a chance that Vilma can be put into free agency and re-signed once there. Brandon Spikes would start at middle linebacker, while Jonathan Vilma would move outside.

15. Houston Texans: William Moore, Safety, Missouri

Houston's secondary has been terrible for years, and it could get worse if Dunta Robinson is let go. William Moore is a ball-hawking safety who will make a big impact on the Texans' secondary.

16. San Diego Chargers: Chris Wells, Running Back, Ohio State

LaDainian Tomlinson has clearly lost a step in his game and he's publicly announced that he will retire when his contract expires. Darren Sproles is also a free agent. Chris Wells will be able to be a third-down back and a starter for the future.

17. New York Jets: Matthew Stafford, Quarterback, Georgia

And so you're thinking, "Okay, Matt Stafford falls to 17. What?" You've read correctly. No team really needs a quarterback before this pick besides the Lions and they take Bradford. Brett Favre will likely hang it up this offseason, and we will have to deal with another Brett Favre soap opera.

18. Chicago Bears: Jeremy Maclin, Wide Receiver, Missouri

Chicago's offensive troubles were due to their inconsistency at wide receiver. When Devin Hester is your no. 1, you have problems. Jeremy Maclin will be a star player right away in Chicago and the target they need.

19. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Knowshon Moreno, Running Back, Georgia

Can you honestly rely on Warrick Dunn and Carnell Williams all year? Earnest Graham is hurt and not like he was in the 2007-2008 season. This pick will have that "That makes no sense!" effect if it happens, but I'm betting most of you thought the same thing about Chris Johnson too.

20. Detroit Lions from Dallas: Jason Smith, Offensive Tackle, Baylor

The Lions surrendered 52 sacks this season. 52! That's awful! Jason Smith would be a steal this late in the first round. Detroit needs all the help they can get at every position.

21. Arizona Cardinals: Greg Hardy, Defensive End, Ole Miss

Arizona needs defensive help more than anything. Their defense line besides Bertrand Berry is pretty bad. Greg Hardy will be the pass rush they could strongly use.

22. Philadelphia Eagles: Ciron Black, Offensive Tackle, LSU

Tra Thomas and Jon Runyan are both free agents to be which means one of them likely won't be resigned. Ciron Black is big and strong and will be able to replace either one of them if they happen to leave.

23. Minnesota Vikings: Eben Britton, Offensive Tackle, Arizona

Ryan Cook has not worked out well with the Vikings. The Vikings could really use a stud right tackle. Minnesota's line is good, and they can make it great if they land Eben Britton.

24. New England Patriots: Vontae Davis, Cornerback, Illinois

Deltha O'Neal is not the cornerback that he once was. New England needs a true No. 1 corner. Vontae Davis might not slip this far in the draft, but if he does the Pats won't hesitate to pick him.

25. Atlanta Falcons: Terrence Cody, Nose Tackle, Alabama

The Falcons don't have many more needs to fill, believe it or not. Nose Tackle is a position that could be upgraded a bit. Terrence Cody is the best nose tackle in the draft.

26. Miami Dolphins: D.J. Moore, Cornerback, Vanderbilt

Miami's secondary actually got better as the season progressed. They finished the season at 19th against the pass. D.J. Moore would be the right pick and a good fit for the Dolphins.

27. Baltimore Ravens: Darrius Heyward-Bey, Wide Receiver, Maryland

Baltimore's Derrick Mason had one of the better seasons of his career, but with that said, he's nearly 35 years old. It's time for the Ravens to develop a No. 1 wide receiver for the future.

28. Indianapolis Colts: Peria Jerry, Defensive Tackle, Ole Miss

Indianapolis hasn't had a good defensive tackle in some time. Anthony McFarland was terrible when he came to the Colts. Finally, the Colts get the man they need in Peria Jerry.

29. Philadelphia Eagles from Carolina: Brandon Pettigrew, Tight End, Oklahoma State

L.J. Smith is awful, and it's about time he goes to another team. Perhaps the Lions? The Eagles obviously need help at tight end, and Brandon Pettigrew is the best there is at that spot.

30. Pittsburgh Steelers: Duke Robinson, Guard, Oklahoma

Pittsburgh's offensive line is horrendous. Ben Roethlisberger is constantly getting knocked down because his line is scared to block, it seems. Duke Robinson can play either tackle or guard.

31. New York Giants: Clint Sintim, Outside Linebacker, Virginia

Danny Clark isn't worth starting any longer. It appears that Mathias Kiwanuka is going to stay at defensive end for a while. Outside linebacker is the choice here, and Clint Sintim is the best available.

32. Tennessee Titans: Victor Harris, Cornerback, Virginia Tech

Nick Harper is 34 years old and his contract expires next year. Tennessee's specialty is their defense and what better than to make it even better. Victor Harris with the last pick of the first round is a steal.

The Saints will not re-sign Vilma until free agency begins so that they do not have to give up a first rounder. That's already been reported on local talk radio. If they do re-sign him or other free agent MLB in March, they will not draft an MLB and ask the free agent to move to outside. If Taylor Mays is not available, they will likely trade their pick so that they can acquire more picks.

Thanks, Paul I was not aware of this. It would be smart for the Saints to trade down like you said.

Vilma is not "guaranteed" to re-sign with the Saints if and when they opt to let him hit the market so that they do not have to give up a pick. Honestly, it's just as likely that he won't go to the Saints as it is likely that he will return. I fully agree with Tanner in assuming that they will lose him.

There is a good chance he won't be back. I agree with that Sayre. I see the Saints some how getting Vilma back regardless of giving up a first-rounder.

I agree with a lot of this list, just some of the little things I didn't like. The Falcons for sure aren't in the same place they were last year, but they do need to draft a couple linebackers, besides Curtis Lofton, the LBs are getting old, and Coy Wire is simply a converted safety who I think should never have to start a game at LB. Brooking is still good, but losing his touch in coverage, as noted by yesterday's game. They should also look early for a safety, a more complete end to complement Abraham, and a corner to back up Foxworth until he gets stale. Great list though, sorry for the rant. :P

You make a good point. The reason for the Falcons early leave in the playoffs is because their defense is pretty bad. If they can improve it next year they will be tough to beat.

good lord, if gresham falls that far to atlanta, i'd be insanely excited. can't believe that'd happen. if that's the first two rounds they walk away with, they've gotta thank their lucky stars.

There is a good chance Gresham won't fall that far but if he does the Falcons will snatch him rignt up. The Falcons get their two biggest needs in the first two rounds.

      I agree Daniel.......

Its pretty interesting to see the #1 or #2 Tight End in the Draft to fall into the second round. As much as the Defense needs to be revamp....if Gresham is still there in the first round when its time for the Falcons to pick, they have to take HIM. They have to....Tight Ends are almost always open( especially in the Arizona game.lol) and it wouldn't hurt to have a efficient blocker on the line.

Then again I would like see Dimitroff spice up the Draft and maybe trade up for a for a BIG time Defensive player (Taylor Mays, Malcolm Jenkins, or Rey Maualuga).

The reason I don't have them drafting a corner YET is because they have Fabian Washington who will be the starter next year. Samari Rolle is only 32 and Chris McAlister is 31. They may be getting up there in age but they can still play. I have the Ravens taking a cornerback likely in round five.

Yes they need a cornerback but there are a few free agents they will look at (Nnamdi Asomugha, Kelvin Hayden, Dunta Robinson, Jabari Greer) I believe the Ravens will sign one of these guys. Ravens will draft a cornerback and you'll see it in my next mock. This is not the last one I will put out there.

      K. We need a CB pretty badly, a young one, that's why I would have liked Leodis McKelvin. Can't complain with the quarterback we drafted. I believe his name was Flacco.

Ha ha. Joe Flacco is a stud and was the right pick no doubt. Baltimore will get a young stud cornerback no matter what happens. Who knows maybe they will address the need for a receiver with T.J. Houshmandzadeh.

I agree. I think the Ravens finished the regular season like 28th in passing yards or something like that. They could really use another receiver because Mark Clayton hasn't been as impressive as many thought he would be. Only ten career touchdowns in 64 games played. Pretty bad.

      Okay two things:

      1. Reason we finished 28th is we were hiding Flacco and utilizing the run.
      2. Clayton no isn't great, but he's good. 10 TD's in 60 games just means we don't pass on goal line. (41 rec, 700 yards, 3 TD for MC)

I'm not saying Mark Clayton is awful I'm saying they could use an upgrade plus Derrick Mason won't have many more seasons like he did this year with how old he is. Clayton had a decent year I won't argue that but over his career the numbers don't reach out and grab you.

I would be very happy with Taylor Mays in the first round. Denver hasn't had a safety who hits that hard since Lynch, and even though that's only been one year, it's too long. I saw Mays in the Rose Bowl and he looked like a really good option with a lot of potential in the NFL. I also saw the highlights of Shonn Greene in the Outback Bowl, and was really impressed. Sayre has been a big fan of his for a long time, and I finally got a chance to see him play. He looks like he could be the next LT, it was that good.

Nicely done, kid! I think you are spot on with the Ciron Black & Herman Johnson picks. They are both classic Eagles linemen. Huge road graders that love to maul folks.

Spot on too with Maclin to the Bears and Rey Maualuga to the Jags. Although, I wouldn't be surprised if the Jags took an offensive lineman with that pick.

I think its a toss up between Stafford & Harrell to the Jets. (Although I believe they have their future qb already on the roster in Brett Ratliff). While Stafford appears to have all of the tools, it's been very rare that he has put them all together at any one time. He has thrown way too many interceptions versus the number of passed thrown. Because Harrell has played and excelled in a very complicated system, I would take him over Stafford.

Terrance "Mount" Cody could be selected to replace an aging Kris Jenkins. Or better yet, if one of the pass rushing ends is still on the board, I think they'll get selected before a qb.

Good job man, I like this list. Just have one note to add... Kam Chancellor has announced that he is staying at VT so you can take him off the list.

I like Macho to the Titans but with a good combine performance he may go higher then that. Either way some team is going to get a steal in him.

Duke robinson will not slip that late. he will be most likely drafted by san diego because of jeremy clary's horendous blocking. over 15% of the sacks allowed by SD has been from the Right Tackle area, and duke robinson will be a nice boost. Also, LT still has a few years left in his tank. only 292 carries this year. Also, a good RB will be available later on in the Future.

I agree with almost everything. This list is a good one, but I think even though Stafford is more inconsistent than Bradford is, the Lions will be kind of worried to get a quaterback that has been in a system that Bradford has been in through college. It would be ok if he was going to play behind someone for the first year but on the Lions team they will need a face for the franchise starting the first day to get people to start forgetting about this season.
I also believe the Jags will take a versatile tackle to maybe move through the line because they do still have talent on that team, they just need linemen depth. A wideout is a must too but they can most likely get that later in the draft or free agency (aka TJ Housh). Whatever quaterback is not pickup first will probably go to the 49ers. Singletary keeps talking about building for the future and I think he will want a new start at QB with his new off. coordinator. They would also be able to learn from Shawn Hill, who has been amazing this year. Tampa Bay is my favorite team and this is a little biased but I think we should get a defensive tackle. We should stock our defense back up. I believe a RB would be a good choice to but not Knowshon Moreno. It doesn't matter though because as long as Jon Gruden is there than a WR will be picked.

Most unrealistic mock First Round I have ever seen or myself could fathom. First of all your comment on Matthew Stafford going to the 17th pick to the Jets is just completely insane. You say that no other team needs a QB or that they don't really require using their 1st pick on a "franchise" type QB. Really sooo I guess Kansas City is just content on building the offense around Tyler Thigpen.haha. How about the St. Louis Rams...yea they are doing quite well with Marc Bulger as the QB of the future. And I am sure that the San Fransisco 49ers are doing just fine with Alex Smith still wanting for his chance. Bottom line is even if Detroit took Sam Bradford, which they won't, there are at least two teams begging for a big Strong armed Quarterback to build there organization around (K.C. and San Fran)...hell you could even make the argument that Jacksonville could be incline to draft a QB in the first round. Secondly you got the best two TE in the draft not getting drafted until the second and third rounds. Sorry but in the NFL, the Tight End is a huge element in the offensive scheme of things. And there are a plethora of teams that are in need of a solid TE (FALCONS are one of them). If either Gresham and Brandon Pettigrew haven't been drafted in the First Round than I'll be ducking for cover, because the sky will be falling. Your later Rounds are about right.....I like your pick for the Falcons in the first round (Terrence Cody). I could see the Falcons trying to put big Grady Jackson and "Mount" Cody on the D-Line together. But the most accurate thing of all about your MOCK Draft is that we don't see Mr. Tim Tebow at all in the first four rounds......because simply he is just a great "college football" player and that amounts to squat in the NFL. The kid has heart and determination but he will never ever ever take a snap under center in the NFL.

Hey bro. Check your sight before you judge. Brandon Pettigrew to the EAGLES first round! I have Tim Tebow staying in college but if he says he's coming out he will be in the first two rounds. Tyler Thigpen is actually an impressive quarterback who can both run and pass. San Fran could take Matt Stafford you're right but things can change. There is free agency coming up too. It's only January and the draft isn't for over three months. I appreciate your comment on my later rounds. But hey I'm only 14 and I know I don't know the most about the draft but trust me when I say I've seen much more far-fetched mock drafts than this may be.

My apology on the Brandon Pettigrew knock....Talk out in Kansas City and San Fran is that there QBs have had there chances to develop into their roles, and its the end of the road for them. If Stafford declares (which I believe it should wait) he will be nabbed in the top 5 picks. I really hope you are right about the Falcons taking Mount CODY though. Can you imagine a 380 lbs NT and 345 lbs DT to plug up the holes.

Yeah that's fine on the Pettigrew thing. My apologies on the vision comment. I'm sure you have 20-20 vision. Haha. But yeah the Falcons D-line would be sick with Terrence Cody, Jonathan Abraham, Grady Jackson and don't even forget about Jamaal Anderson who is getting better by the game. Thanks for the comment, Josh!

If the Raiders need help at wide receiver why would they draft Percy Harvin in the 2nd round? There's no point unless they want another kick returner on the team? There's no way Harvin is a NFL ready receiver at this point. He should stay in school and either make a decision and say look coach I'm a wide receiver play me there you can call a reverse maybe once or twice a game, but from now on use me as a wide receiver.

If the Raiders truly need a wide receiver they should go with the Rutgers 6'4 wideout Kenny Britt. NFL body and could become a solid number one receiver while Harvin will never be anything more then a 3rd or 4th receiver.

I also don't believe that Alex Mack is going to fall into the 2nd round. He's too good to pass up in the first round. Maybe the Lions should take him with the 20th pick. Couldn't hurt could it? Mack is the best center prospect in college football and he's a beast. Lions definitely need help on the offensive line.

Percy Harvin is a play-maker can you name another playmaker besides Justin Fargas and possibly Zach Miller on the Raiders team? Honestly. Alex Mack could go in the second. He's a talented player and his stock I'm sure will rise.

Darren McFadden? Their kick returner Johnnie Lee Higgins? What about the fact that the Raiders are more in tuned with drafting Harvin's teammate Louis Murphy quite possibly because he's taller and he's a better receiver than Harvin is.

I think Stafford will probably go #1 and it will be ANOTHER HUGE mistake by a crappy crappy franchise. I think Stafford is one of the most overrated players to come out of college since David Carr. He'll have the same type of career too. Watch and see

Greg Hardy won't go in the draft before perai jerry. Greg had a down year this year and Perai played much better. plus greg said he will probably come back for his senior season.

That's debatable. There aren't many teams in the top 15 that need a defensive tackle. Peria Jerry would normally be a top 15 prospect if there were teams that needed him.

Maualuga is very talented and will likely be the best defensive rookie next year but he isn't worthy of going number one. Detroit could trade up from their 20 spot since they have 9 total picks in the draft. Detroit could possibly trade up to Jacksonville's spot for their (Detroits) 20th pick and a third rounder.

I think Bradford is overrated but you may be right about him being the first pick. I think Stafford will have a much better career then him. As a Bucs fan I would love to get Moreno.

I didn't see Percy Harvin up there? He will get drafted in the first 15 picks. I don't think Terrence Cody has declared for the draft has he?

I thought the article was pretty good though, especially considering how far away the draft is.

Bradford is pretty much the number one pick by default because there aren't many number one caliber players coming out this year. Percy Harvin in the top 15? That's a bit of a reach in my opinion. He isn't the second best receiver after Crabtree. I could even make the case that he's not top three. Terrence Cody hasn't declared but most likely he will-- if he's smart.

The raiders have more glaring weaknesses and I don't think they will pick a CB at seven. More likely a lineman in my opinion. They will probably resign Nmadi and have a good number 2 in Chris Johnson who played much better than Hall.

Great draft predictions. I only have two questions. Where are quarterbacks Tim Tebow and Mike Teel? You know, Mike Teel the senior quarterback who threw all those passes to the Jets' second round pick Kenny Britt. He has had consectutive 3000+ yard passing seasons and this season he and Rutgers started their season off terrible but turned it around. Teel even had a 6 touchdown game and a 7 touchdown game, one against then 17 ranked Pittsburgh. Now give me one reason why Hunter Cantwell would get drafted higher than either of these Qbs. If you look at second half of the season passing statistics Teel was number three overall only to Graham Harrel and I think Curtis Painter. And come on, Hunter Cantwell before THE Tim Tebow? He was a backup his first 3 years and then almost got benched this year towards the end of the season in favor of Matt Sims, the son of the great Phil Sims and brother of QB Chris Simms. His last name says it all. Cantwell. CANT-WELL.

Thank you, Josh. I think Tebow will stay in college if he's smart which he is. Another year to boost up his skill level even more. As for Mike Teel he's a talented quarterback but not worthy of the first four rounds. Now if a few quarterbacks I have being drafted go back to school then he will be there. I also like the comment on Hunter Cantwell-- Cant-Well. Ha ha good stuff.

But to be accurate, Newman is only 30 years old right now, and he still plays like one of the best period.

We also have new guys coming in the form of Jenkins and Scandrick.

Personally, I'd look for an offensive tackle since Flozell Adams is getting up in age.

Thanks James it's greatly appreciated. Terrence Newman is 30 years old right now but by seasons beginning he will be 31. I believe Dallas will convert one of their cornerbacks to safety because let's be honest here Roy Williams is pretty bad and is trade bait for sure. I think Dallas will go for an offensive tackle in free agency like: Jordan Gross, Mark Tauscher, Jon Runyan or Tra Thomas. Yes, Matt Stafford will definitely be picked before Tebow. Tebow I don't have coming out but if he does he will go between rounds 3 and 4.

We don't need a tackle to start. We need one to add depth.

Heck, I hope you're right on Tebow falling. If I was Dallas, I'd so grab him. We could use him for backup.

Roy Williams is bad, but I would then convert him to linebacker. We could use Henry for safety, and Jenkins and Newman at starting corner.

Roy Williams is a loyal Cowboy, and that stands for something. He is having difficulty, but he's had an entire offseason to look inside himself.

Cowboys for the Super Bowl next year!

Well if it's depth you're looking for then a late round pick is what Dallas needs. Possible free agents for depth are: Stacy Andrews, Khalif Barnes, and Vernon Carey. Hopefully that gives you some options to mull over. Dallas could trade up from their second round pick to get Phil Loadholt who would be a great player for the Boys. The guy is 6"8 337 pounds-- woofta.

Roy Williams would have to hit the weights and get to eating if he wants to be a linebacker. I'm not sure on his height and weight for sure but I think it's around 6"0 220 lbs. At least he wouldn't be giving up big plays in pass coverage. That's no disrespect that's a good thing, my friend.

That would be a good idea. I'm not sure if Alex Smith would be the guy the Chiefs would want since they have Tyler Thigpen and Brody Croyle and if they go down to ten they would try to land on Mark Sanchez or possibly Bradford or Stafford if they fall.

      Here's a realistic trade:

      San Francisco gets:
      Pick #3
      round 5 Pick #131

      Kansas City gets:
      Pick #10
      Middle Linebacker Ahmad Brooks
      Round 7 Pick#202

yes they will, which is why i think they could maybe get leinart or derek anderson (who if he plays up to is potential like 2007 then could be good) and then if they got a solid qb they could leave the draft to an offensive linemen or two, maybe a pass rusher, and safety is definitely a priority

Matt Leinart won't be traded unless it's for multiple picks including a first rounder. He's the future still of the Cardinals believe it or not. Derek Anderson is a possibility. Cleveland is shopping him around all the time. If they pick at 10 they could get a Michael Oher or Eugene Monroe if they fall. As for a pass rusher at 10 possibly Orakpo or Michael Johnson. Safety would be Taylor Mays, which I think they might do.

It's not just his college stats on the field. He has proven that he never quit even when he was being booed by his own fans and the entire team still believed in him and followed him on route to a 7 game winning streak. At the same time, Louisvile started 5-2 and finished the season 5-7. And about their recognition. Teel's three Big East offensive player of the week awards this year. Recognized by the Big East. Cantwell had none of these. How about Bowl games? Teel played in 3 games. That's 3 more games on national tv in front of a lot more viewers. Was Cantwell invited to play in the Senior Bowl? What about the NFL combine? Has he done anything besides starting for one year that would give any evidence that he has a better arm, better accuracy, more experience, or any more intangibles than Teel does? You say stats don't neccessarily mean Teel will be good in the NFL, but you don't have a reason why Cant-Well wil do better in the NFL.

Mike Teel had an impressive college career. Neither Cantwell or him will succeed in the NFL right away. There are way too many good quarterbacks in the draft and not many teams desperately need their help. Teel should go round 5-6 and Cantwell 4-5. Teel succeeded against crappy teams. Rutgers only faced one ranked opponent all year while Louisville faced 3 and that's not including a very talented West Virginia.

You can take an awful NFL Quarterback like Joey Harrington and put him against the Ohio State Buckeys and he will shread them apart. Put Mike Teel and Rutgers against Cincinnati like Louisville had to play and see how well he does.

"Teel succeeded against crappy teams. Rutgers only faced one ranked opponent all year while Louisville faced 3 and that's not including a very talented West Virginia..... Put Mike Teel and Rutgers against Cincinnati like Louisville had to play and see how well he does."

    1. You should learn your CFB conferences better because if you did you would know that Rutgers and Louisville are BOTH in the Big East. Which means Rutgers played the same exact conference teams as Lousville. They DID play West Virginia and they DID play Cincinatti. And I'l let you know Rutgers only Lost to West Virginia by 7 at West Virginia and at Cincinatti by 3. And that was before they turned ther season around. Mike Teel wnt 19-35 and 175 yards passing with no interceptions. But do you want to know how many drops his wide recieviers had? 6 dropped passes. That would be another 6 completions and a lot more yards gained. Not to mention 1st downs that wouldv'e given him even more oppurtunities to pass. Cantwell also went 19-35 and 204 yards and one interception. That's because that game his wide receivers could actually catch!

    2. They actually had to play a harder Schdule then Louisville and played then #25 Fresno State, an 8-4 North Carolina team that spent most of the season ranked, and an 8-4 Navy team. They also played Army(I know so what) and one division IAA team. Lousville played 3 ranked teams? Maybe if you count WVU but Rutgers played them too. Louisville played 3 teams from division IA and 2 teams from division 1AA which were Middle Tennesee and Tennesee Tech. Louisville's IA teams were a 6-6 Kentucky team, a 7-5 Memphis team, and a 5-7 Kansas State team. I think Louisville was the one that playd crappier teams. So Tanner, like I said before, besides this issue great predictions. But please learn your facts about college football before you make draft predictions about its players and try to defend yourself with information that isn't true and makes you sound like you don't know what you're talking about.
