NFL Picks Week 10: Top Teams Sure to Get Needed Wins
It's Week 10 in the NFL and playoff implications are starting to take hold, with many teams looking to stay in the hunt as the last half of the season continues.
Playoff talk is coming up sooner than you think, NFL fans. And with so many divisions up for grabs right now, Week 10 has must-win games on slate for several teams.
Here are five squads who will get a much needed win come this weekend.
New Orleans Saints
1 of 5The New Orleans Saints find themselves in a matchup for the top spot in the NFC South heading down to Atlanta, Georgia, to take on the rival Falcons.
Atlanta is currently riding a three-game winning streak and Matt Ryan plays especially well at home, but the Saints have their confidence back after defeating Tampa Bay following their embarrassing loss to the St. Louis Rams a few weeks ago.
The running back situation isn't a great one for New Orleans, but with Marques Colston and Jimmy Graham in the lineup along with the rest of their receivers, Drew Brees should be able to have a nice day through the air here.
This will be a close bout for sure, but look for the Saints to fend off another division foe in route to maintaining the top spot in the NFC South.
Green Bay Packers
2 of 5It may seem odd to say that the only undefeated NFL team left this season needs a win, but they do. Despite the two-game lead on the Detroit Lions, both teams have yet to face each other this season and are just two weeks away from their showdown on Thanksgiving day.
Last time the Pack met their arch rival Minnesota Vikings, Christan Ponder and company came as close as anybody has to ruining Green Bay's pursuit of perfection.
The Packer defense has been one of the underlying reasons behind their close calls with both the Vikes' and San Diego Chargers, but I don't expect them to lose just yet.
The Vikings put up a valiant effort and threw everything they could at the cheeseheads and still couldn't get the W, which will surely be in the back of their heads on Monday night.
Baltimore Ravens
3 of 5The win against the Pittsburgh Steelers was a huge one for these Baltimore Ravens, as they now have a nice season sweep advantage should the two finish with the same record. Though, that would require the Ravens to keep pace with the surging Steelers and keep their winning streak going strong.
They'll take on the Seattle Seahawks on the road and battle the famous 12th man up in the Pacific Northwest. The only thing that went right for Seattle when they took on the Dallas Cowboys last Sunday was Marshawn Lynch's ability to run the football, but don't expect that to happen against Ray Lewis and company.
Despite the huge home field advantage on the side of the Seahawks, expect an easy win for the Ravens tomorrow.
Dallas Cowboys
4 of 5As mentioned before, the Cowboys got a much needed win at home last weekend, keeping pace with the rest of the NFC East.
The 'Boys now find themselves a game ahead both the Washington Redskins and Philadelphia Eagles and trailing the New York Giants by two, as it stands in the division.
They'll need to take down the surprising Buffalo Bills at home and hope the San Francisco 49ers can continue their winning ways when they take on the G-Men tomorrow if Dallas wishes to gain ground for the top spot.
Tony Romo and the offense looked sharp against an underrated Seahawks defense, partially due to the fact they made big plays on defense and had a balanced offensive attack thanks to the emergence of DeMarco Murray.
Expect Murray and the Cowboys to keep up their resurgence and hand Buffalo their second straight loss in as many games.
New York Jets
5 of 5Rex Ryan and the New York Jets couldn't have picked a better time to face their nemesis New England Patriots.
The Pats are coming off their first home loss in 20 straight games played in Foxboro thanks to the Jets' NFC rival New York Giants.
The Patriots just haven't looked in sync on offense for most of the season and haven't been able to put up more than 20 points since the last time these two teams crossed paths.
Rex Ryan can smell the vulnerability in this New England team after such a deflating loss against the Giants last week and their troubles on both sides of the ball.
It will surely be a close game; it always is with these two. But there's a good chance we see the Patriots lose their third straight game after all is done in Week 10.
