NFL Picks Week 10: The Cellar Dweller That Will Make Noise This Weekend

Jake MartinNov 12, 2011

If I was a betting man, I would bet my house that the Indianapolis Colts will upset their AFC South arch rival, the Jacksonville Jaguars this Sunday.

How's your mind? Blown I suppose. I know what you’re thinking, and before you ask it, no I’m not crazy.

For all I know, everything’s clicking just fine upstairs. I do, however, believe that this is the week the Colts get their first victory, because if not now, when?

We all know Curtis Painter is no Peyton Manning, and the team has struggled tremendously without their valiant leader. I get that.

I also get that for the first time in history, the MVP should go out to a player that hasn’t even touched the field all season long. But none of this disregards the fact that this team still has talent capable enough of pulling off a victory.

I mean, this is the Colts vs. the Jags. They always have thrilling games no matter what the case may be, and I expect the Colts to give the Jags everything they have. The Colts aren’t going to win this game on offense, because of how strong the Jags are on defense.

And with Joseph Addai being questionable for the game,  that doesn't help their case either, but it’s time this Colts’ defense mans up and gets after the opposing offense.

Let's keep in mind that this Jaguars team has only won two games this year, and they are the league's worst when it comes to throwing the football. Robert Mathis will plant Blaine Gabbert into the ground over and over again in this game, and force the rookie to make some mistakes.

It’s up to this Colts’ defense to capitalize on those mistakes.

There seems to be some kind of perception around the league that the Colts’ should lose every game just to get Andrew Luck, but the last time I checked, you don’t play the game to lose.

In the words of Herm Edwards, “You play to win the game.” The Colts will show their pride, and  finally break into that win column this week. You’ll see, just watch.
