CC Sabathia Re-Signs with Yankees: How Much Food Can He Buy with His New Deal?

1 of 11

According to multiple sources, including C.C. Sabathia himself, Sabathia will be returning to the New York Yankees next season. He decided not to opt out of his contract as he will get more money and extra years on his deal after the two sides agreed on an extension.

Sabathia has guaranteed himself at least $30 million more over the course of his new deal. This comes in the form of a $25 million in 2016 as well as a $5 million buyout for 2017. He also has a $25 million option for 2017. Sabathia's deal now comes in at five years and $122 million in guaranteed money.

There is a lot of food that can be bought with that kind of money and Sabathia is certainly a hungry man; he is one of the biggest players in baseball.

The following are just some of the things that Sabathia could buy with his $122 million.

122 Million Slices of Pizza

If there is one food item that New York City is known for, it is pizza.

The city is filled with pizzas and offers some of the best pies and slices that can be found this side of Italy. New York City pizza is the best pizza in the United States (sorry Chicago).

One of the best things about having a pizza place on almost every corner is the fact that dollar slices are very easy to find.

With his new $122 million deal, this means that Sabathia can eat 122 million slices of fantastic New York pizza.

30,500,000 Boxes of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts

It is almost impossible to find a person that does not like doughnuts. Taking one look at CC Sabathia, it is easy to assume he enjoys the occasional doughnut or two as well.

With the money from his new contract, Sabathia has enough cash to buy a whole lot of Krispy Kreme doughnuts.

At $4 a box, Sabathia could make a nice gesture and give a box to every member of the NYPD, or he could just eat them all himself.

17,428,571 Burritos from Korilla

Food trucks are famous around New York City. They can be found throughout the day and offer some outstanding and unique dining options.

Korilla, a unique twist on Korean barbeque is one of the top food trucks in New York, recently appearing on the Food Network's Great Food Truck Race.

Should Sabathia be able to find one of the Korilla trucks, he will be in for a treat as he can order more than 17 million burritos from them. At a price of $7 a pop, Sabathia would be able to buy one or two for whoever is behind him in line as well.

13,555,555 Six-Packs of Brooklyn Lager

The New York Yankees may play their games in the Bronx, but that does not mean that C.C. Sabathia cannot get a taste of New York's other boroughs.

Sabathia can quench his thirst with a bottle of New York's "hometown" beer; Brooklyn Lager is the flagship beer of the Brooklyn Brewery.

Since Sabathia can afford over 13 million six-packs at $9.00 a unit, one might imagine that he could throw one insane party.

8,327,645 Orders of a Double Cheeseburger, Fries and a Shake from Shake Shake

It is very rare that world-class, award-winning restaurateurs create dinning destinations that almost everyone can afford. Danny Meyer has accomplished this with his delicious hamburgers at Shake Shack.

While the wait for a burger at the Madison Square Park location can be over an hour on a nice summer day, there are people that swear by the burgers and shakes as worth the wait.

Sabathia could order a double cheeseburger, fries and a chocolate shake for just $14.65 at Shake Shack. Should he want the same meal at Citi Field, it will cost him a little bit more.

7,746,031 Pastrami Sandwiches from Katz's Delicatessen

Katz's Deli is a New York City institution and claims to have the best pastrami sandwiches in the world.

Sabathia would be just one of the deli's many famous customers if he were to visit and purchase one of the over seven million sandwiches that he could afford. Each sandwich costs $15.95.

The deli has been in many movies, including When Harry Met Sally. The famous "I'll have what she's having" scene was filmed in the restaurant.

3,702,579 Cheesecakes from Junior's

Junior's cheesecakes are a New York City favorite. These cheesecakes are known as the best in New York and are the perfect way to end any meal.

Sabathia will be able to have his cake and eat it too after his new extension.

Sabathia will be able to order over 3.5 million cheesecakes from Juniors at $32.95 a piece. Let's hope that he decides to share a slice or two.

2,218,988 Filet Mignons from Lobel's

9 of 11

One of the best meals that can be purchased at Yankee Stadium is Lobel's steak sandwich. The meat purveyors also allow customers to order their delicious steaks online.

CC Sabathia could take advantage of this and bring a little bit of Yankee Stadium home with him. He can afford to purchase over two million 12 oz. filet mignons from Lobel's.

Sabathia could likely eat more than one of the $54.98 steaks in a sitting.

443,636 Meals at Per Se

Every year, S. Pellegrino rates the top restaurants in the world. New York City's top-rated restaurant is Per Se, which comes in at No. 10 in the world and No. 7 in North America.

As one might expect, a meal at Per Se does not come cheap. A prix fixe (set price) nine-course dinner will run a patron $275. This should not be a problem as Sabathia can certainly afford to take his family and friends for a meal there.

1,355 Nebuchadnezzars of Armand De Brignac Champagne

11 of 11

If the New York Yankees win another World Series title, they will celebrate as all teams do with champagne.

However, there is no need for the Yankees to be spraying bottles of Andre around when they can afford something much, much better.

Mark Cuban celebrated in style after the Dallas Mavericks won the NBA title when he bought a $90,000 Nebuchadnezzar of Armand de Brignac.

Sabathia could buy a bottle for every player, coach, front office executive and others for the celebration.
