The San Diego Chargers travel cross-country to the East Coast to take on the New York Jets on Sunday. The game features two of the AFC's elite teams that are to battle it out.

The big storyline is RB LaDainian Tomlinson facing his former team. Chargers GM A.J. Smith had no problem kicking Tomlinson to the curb and the Jets picked him up two seasons ago.

The veteran running back has been utilized more in the Jets' passing game than anything, as he is showing signs of wear-and-tear and can no longer run in between the tackles. That role is reserved for RB Shonne Greene.

The Chargers are 4-1, and off to a great start in 2011. Even though QB Philip Rivers has thrown just six touchdowns to seven interceptions this season.

Jets head coach Rex Ryan has made it known this week that he interviewed for the Chargers' head coaching job years ago. Ryan said he would have won two Super Bowls if the Chargers hired him in 2007.

The game is slated to kick off at 1 p.m. ET, which gives an advantage to the Jets. Even though the Chargers are coming off a bye week, they are traveling cross-country for an early-start game. The Jets have won all three home games this year and will look to take advantage of the favorable situation.

Final score: Chargers - 21 Jets - 27
