Kerry Collins hasn't had much success for the Indianapolis Colts this season, and now that he has suffered a concussion it's unclear if the starting job will still be his.

The veteran quarterback will be looked at throughout the week, and like any other player dealing with a concussion in the NFL, the league will take this issue seriously.

Stay here for further updates on Collins' status throughout the week.

Collins' status is still unknown for the Monday night game, but it seems that there is no chance he becomes the starter again.

According to Rotoworld,

"Collins failed to practice all week, and the Colts will likely be forced to go with only Dan Orlovsky behind Curtis Painter on Monday evening. HC Jim Caldwell intimated on Friday that Collins will not be reinstalled as the starter even once he's back to full health"

Pro Football Talk is reporting that Curtis Painter will be the starting quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts on Monday night.

"It’s official:Curtis Painter is the Indianapolis Colts’ starting quarterback.

Colts coach Jim Caldwell confirmed today that with Kerry Collins still out of practice after suffering a concussion on Sunday, Painter will start Monday night’s game at Tampa Bay."

This isn't a huge surprise, especially after Reggie Wayne was lobbying for Painter earlier this week. Collins wasn't doing all that well for the 0-3 Colts anyway, so giving Painter the start while Collins rests is a good move.

Painter knows the system better than Collins, and you better believe Peyton Manning will be coaching the kid up a lot before Monday night.

Curtis Painter is primed to get his first ever NFL start this weekend. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Colts are preparing as if Kerry Collins will miss the game.

Good luck to Colts fans, they are going to need it after the performance Painter put on last week.

The Indianapolis Colts still don't know what they are going to do with the QB situation this week. According to Tampa Bay Bucs beat writer, Stephen Holder, Kerry Collins missed practice once again today.

As of right now, it looks like Curtis Painter will get the nod at QB, unless Collins can recover in the next few days.

Collins is still being evaluated and there isn't much specific news about his injury. However, the Colts are clearly concerned here as they are working out two quarterbacks today, according to

The Indianapolis Colts are exploring their options regarding adding another quarterback to the roster.

The team is working out Dan Orlovsky and Brodie Croyle today, according to sources with knowledge of the situation.

This doesn't bode well for the Colts as Curtis Painter is the only healthy quarterback on the roster. Orlovsky does have experience with the Colts offense since he was in training camp, but was cut right before the season.

Peyton Manning is still on the active roster, and if Collins' injury is more serious than originally thought perhaps the franchise QB should go on IR because he is doubtful to return this season.
