Kansas City Chiefs: Two Players Get into a Locker Room Scuffle, One Injured

Farzin VousoughianJun 5, 2018

According to 610 Sports Radio’s Nick Wright on Twitter, Thomas Jones and Jonathan Baldwin got into a fight in the locker room with Baldwin injuring himself; he may miss the remainder of the preseason.

"SCOOP- During locker room scuffle with Thomas Jones, #Chiefs WR Jon Baldwin injured his wrist. Likely to miss rest of preseason." -- @GetNickWright

This is definitely concerning on many levels.

Baldwin is the Chiefs first-round draft pick and it seems like he hasn’t made a whole lot of progress in training camp so far. For him to miss the rest of the preseason is crucial and it's doubtful that he will be the No. 2 starter opposite Dwayne Bowe when the Chiefs kick off the season against the Buffalo Bills on September 11th.

On the other hand, Jones is a veteran who has been praised as one of the better locker room players in the National Football League. The details behind this have not been released.

Knowing the Chiefs, I'm sure that they will be tight-lipped and will do their best to avoid answering questions regarding this issue.

I’m not quite sure what to make of this, considering how highly respected Jones is in the NFL. Is it possible that Baldwin said something to get on his nerves? Did Jones say something to the rookie and get him to react?

No one else in the Kansas City area has picked up on this story. We’ll do our best here on Bleacher Report to update you guys if anything else comes up.

Update: Wright has Tweeted that Baldwin's injury is serious and he could be out for 6-8 weeks.
