The great thing about this Sam Fuld catch is that he is tracking the ball all the way until the very last second and isn't even concerned with the warning track or wall that he is steadily approaching.
The Florida Marlins were witness of the range and abilities of Sam Fuld first-hand on June 19th. The Tampa Bay Rays outfielder made not one, but two outstanding grabs. What made it even more spectacular was the fact that both plays happened in the eighth inning.
Sam Fuld's walk-off triple to end the game capped off a thrilling ninth inning comeback. According to Baseball Reference, it was the first game to end on a walk-off triple and an error since June 28, 2004 in Pittsburgh when Pirates Jack Wilson tripled off St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Julian Tavarez with a 1-1 tie in the ninth inning and scored on an error by Albert Pujols.
Sam Fuld made this spectacular play for the Tampa Bay Rays on April 9, 2011 against the Chicago White Sox. His sprint across the outfield and dive against the the fence is amazing not only because of its degree of difficulty but it was his first of many great grabs this season.
