NFL Free Agency: Dallas Cowboys Need Offensive Line Help
With new Dallas Cowboys coach Jason Garrett coming into his first season as the head man, the team might not be in as much trouble as other teams with new coaches in the league.
Garrett took over the head coaching position on an interim level after Cowboys owner Jerry Jones fired Wade Phillips, and after starting the season 1-7, Dallas ended up finishing the season 5-3.
The team has a plethora of great talent, but they need to put it all together on the field to make the speculated success come to fruition. Look for Dallas to make a big push in free agency when the period opens.

Quarterback
This is one of the few spots on the Cowboys that have become void of questions, minus the idea that Tony Romo could be injury prone.
Romo is clearly the starter and one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, while their backup Jon Kitna is one of the best backups a team could ask for.
Running back
The Dallas Cowboys already dumped the contract of running back Marian Barber, leaving Felix Jones and Tashard Choice as the primary backs in Dallas.
The Cowboys make be looking to find a third back for cheap, but not much of their focus will be put on the running back spot.
Wide receiver
With Miles Austin and Dez Bryant controlling the wide receiver group, the Cowboys are set at that spot, but the team should be more worried about Bryantās troubles off the field than getting another receiver on the field.
They may want to re-sign Sam Hurd to an inexpensive contract, but they can find a cheaper solution if he wants too much money to re-sign.
Offensive line
This is where the Dallas Cowboys have to make the biggest splash because their offensive line was one of the worst in the NFL last season, and cost Tony Romo his season.
Doug Free could be a huge loss for the Cowboys if they canāt re-sign him, and the fact that theyāre almost $18 million over the salary cap already means they can go after a huge star like Tyson Clabo. It will be another long year for Tony Romo in Dallas with no protection.
The Cowboys have to do whatever it takes to bring in quality talent to protect their quarterback and create a run game or this season is over before it starts.
Defensive line
With Jason Hatcher and Marcus Spears hitting the unrestricted free-agency pool, the defensive line is in almost as bad a shape as the offensive line. The Cowboys need to find cheap alternatives for at least Spears because he will be cashing in on free agency.
By signing one of the two ends that might leave, Dallas would have enough money to make a splash elsewhere and sign former Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Victor Abiamiri.
Linebacker
The Cowboys are one of the best teams in the league when it comes to their linebacking group, but last year wasnāt a banner year for any particular player.
With DeMarcus Ware, Keith Brooking and Anthony Spencer roaming the middle, teams in the NFC will fear the middle like they do every year.
Cornerback
While the secondary of the Cowboys was burned big on several occasions last season, Dallas brass says theyāre bringing back Terence Newman, Mike Jenkins and Orlando Scandrick.
If the Cowboys can get some contracts off the books, they might dump Newman in return for signing star cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha to a big-time deal. We all know how much Jerry Jones loves that.
Safety
With big questions looming at the safety position, the first key for the Cowboys will be to sign Gerald Sensabaugh to a contract that keeps him in Dallas for awhile.
The Cowboys could be looking to go big at safety by clearing out salary, and if they go big, itāll be for former Philadelphia Eagles safety Quintin Mikell. If not Mikell, than the Cowboys will inquire about free agent Michael Huff.
