NFL Free Agents 2011: 5 Teams Who Need Ahmad Bradshaw
Ahmad Bradshaw is a rather trending topic with the lockout's recent conclusion, as are many talented potential free agents.
I mentioned in my previous article that Braylon Edwards needs to be the Jets' top priority this offseason, not a luxury item like Nnamdi Asomugha or a 'better' player like Santonio Holmes.
I don't feel the same way about Bradshaw—the Giants, with their rather good depth at running back, can afford to tender Bradshaw and get a draft pick.
Other teams, however, need Ahmad Bradshaw, and here is a rundown of the five that do.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
1 of 5The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have a lot of cap space and need to hit 90% of the new $120 million salary cap.
It's a complicated rule, but I explain it here along with the new emergency quarterback rule (which will help players like Terrelle Pryor get more NFL interest.
The Buccaneers need to fill up cap room and could also use a lightning back to pair with LeGarrette Blount's thunder—Bradshaw can be that guy.
Indianapolis Colts
2 of 5The Colts need a player at the running back position who can come in and produce as Peyton Manning's window of opportunity begins to close.
Ahmad Bradshaw is a productive running back who can keep defenses focused slightly on the run.
Indianapolis has suffered through many pretenders at the halfback position since Edgerrin James left and Bradshaw would give the COlts a respectable run game once again.
Miami Dolphins
3 of 5With Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams set to leave town, the Dolphins are looking to have Daniel Thomas as their No. 1 back and not much else after that.
Tony Sparano is accustomed to having two reliable options at running back and Bradshaw could quite possibly represent that.
A backfield of Daniel Thomas and Ahmad Bradshaw could make things bearable this year in Miami.
Cincinnati Bengals
4 of 5They may not be the most popular free-agent destination, but the Bengals can throw a lot of money at players this offseason (as mentioned in my article breaking down the salary cap rule).
The Bengals are changing their losing attitude and Ahmad Bradshaw has proved that he is a player capable of winning.
Even if he has to split carries with Cedric Benson, Bradshaw could be a big-time player for the 2011 Bengals.
New York Giants
5 of 5Maybe after all of this, there is no place like home.
Bradshaw has expressed some interest in returning to the Giants and the team could continue to use him like they did last year.
The running back is talented and could be a big-name player wherever he ends up—even if it's right back home.
