One Video Game Each of the NFL's Top 25 Players Is Most Likely To Play
We all love video games.
NFL players are no different than the rest of us in this aspect of life. Sure, they may have more money or better cars, but get them on an X-Box 360, PS3 or a Wii, and the playing field is level.
Unfortunately, women don't generally choose their spouse based on gaming skills, which is probably why Tom Brady landed Gisele and not some sun-deprived gamer.
From Madden 2011 to Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, here are the video games that the NFL's top 25 players are most likely to play.
Tom Brady, QB
1 of 25Game: Grease: The Official Video Game
With Tom Brady's flowing locks, can't you just see him loving Grease?
So, of course when this game came out, the NFL's golden boy picked it up and plays out his greatest fantasies while loving every minute of being John Travolta.
The only question that remains is if Gisele enjoys being Olivia Newton-John or if she feels insulted that Tom obsesses over a lesser woman.
Peyton Manning, QB
2 of 25Game: Halo 3
It was hard to decide between Halo 2 and Halo 3, but Halo 3 was a better multi-player game.
Peyton Manning is the ultimate field general, and now, he gets to lead his own army in the future.
Manning probably doesn't play the campaign mode on this game, but I'm pretty sure I've heard him on X-Box Live a few times talking trash while blowing me up with a rocket launcher.
Adrian Peterson, RB
3 of 25Game: Wii Fit
As one of the most intimidating players on the offensive side of the football field, you might wonder what type of workout regime Adrian Peterson uses.
It isn't P90X or some other intense workout but rather Wii Fit.
Surprised? Don't be, Wii Fit is what all the great athletes are using these days. It's easy, fun and can put you in the best shape of your life.
I mean, just look at that old guy on the front of the box.
Ray Lewis, LB
4 of 25Game: Grand Theft Auto: Vice City
To me, Ray Lewis is the baddest man in the NFL.
Had he not made it as a professional athlete, I could definitely see him stealing cars and blowing up helicopters like he does unfortunate wide receivers.
It is every man's fantasy to get away in a high speed chase, and Lewis is no different.
Ed Reed, S
5 of 25Game: Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
Ed Reed is the leader of the Baltimore Ravens' defense, but he definitely has the ability to make plays on offense too.
Call of Duty allows Reed to be on the offensive, and since he doesn't appear to be a history buff, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare makes sense.
This is just me, but I would follow Reed into war any day of the week.
I take that back. Saturday is two-for-one day at the local sub shop, so I would follow him into war any day of the week except Saturday.
Troy Polamalu, S
6 of 25Game: Fable III
It sometimes seems like Troy Polamalu has a difficult time deciding whether to be a good guy or a bad guy.
Fable III lets the actions that he chooses decide whether he is good or bad.
My guess is that he was the good guy in the original Fable, a bad guy in Fable II, and now, he is having a difficult time deciding which he liked more.
My gut tells me he had more fun on the dark side.
Andre Johnson, WR
7 of 25Game: Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2
With incredible size, speed, strength and athletic ability, it would be safe to call Andre Johnson a freak of nature.
So, what game does a freak of nature on the football field play? A game filled with freaks of nature where Johnson can literally have his pick between dozens of mutants.
Johnson probably spends most of his time as The Incredible Hulk.
In fact, when Johnson and Cortland Finnegan got into a fight on the field, I think I heard him say, "You won't like me when I'm angry."
Darrelle Revis, CB
8 of 25Game: Assassin's Creed; Brotherhood
As an elite shutdown cornerback in the NFL, Darrelle Revis stalks his prey and attacks at the most opportune time.
What better way to practice that skill set than as a medieval assassin?
Want to know who is in Revis' brotherhood? Well, Antonio Cromartie and Kyle Wilson of course.
Drew Brees, QB
9 of 25Game: Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11
It is no secret that Drew Brees loves the links, so this one shouldn't come as a shocker.
Don't think that he uses Tiger Woods while playing the game though. Brees looks more like a Phil Mickelson-type player.
Drew can also wear his goofy pants and silly hat while playing the game, and no one has to see him.
Julius Peppers, DE
10 of 25Game: NBA 2K11
Back at North Carolina, Julius Peppers played both basketball and football. We all know which sport he chose, and it was certainly a good choice.
Doesn't Peppers ever wonder what could have been?
Well, I've attempted making a 6'7", 283-pound power forward, and it doesn't turn out too good. You picked the right sport Julius.
Aaron Rodgers, QB
11 of 25Game: WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2011
After the 2011 playoffs, it was clear that Aaron Rodgers loves the championship belt.
Well, what better way to truly wear the belt than in WWE SmackDown vs. Raw.
Now, Rodgers can play as his favorite wrestler and finally wear the championship belt.
My guess is that he wrestles as Triple H and completely dominates.
DeMarcus Ware, LB
12 of 25Game: UFC Undisputed 2010
DeMarcus Ware is the best pass-rusher in the NFL today.
He uses a variety of moves to get after the quarterback. When Ware plays UFC Undisputed, he can use a variety of moves to take down his opponent.
His favorite move is probably to just bull rush and tackle his opponent to the ground. Then, he continuously drops the bow.
Chris Johnson, RB
13 of 25Game: SingStar
Before you judge this choice, have you heard Chris Johnson's rap single?
He needs all the help he can get and improving his voice is the first step.
Here is a funny picture for you: Chris Johnson, Vince Young, Cortland Finnegan and Kenny Britt singing "Y.M.C.A."
Can you picture it? Pretty funny, right?
Larry Fitzgerald, WR
14 of 25Game: Spider-Man 3
There might not be a nicer and more level-headed player in the NFL than Larry Fitzgerald.
Throw in his amazing leaping ability and he is the real version of Spider-Man.
The only thing Fitzgerald can't do is shoot webbing out of his wrists.
Well, not yet at least.
Dwight Freeney, DE
15 of 25Game: Fight Night Round 4
Dwight Freeney is an old school type of football player.
What better way to take out built-up aggravation than by the oldest fighting in the book, boxing.
Fight Night Round 4 allows you to play as the greatest boxers ever including Ali and Tyson.
It also has a fantastic mode where you create your own boxer and work your way up the rankings.
Freeney vs. Tyson must be a fantastic fight.
Charles Woodson, CB
16 of 25Game: NCAA Football 98
Back in 1997, Charles Woodson was ruling college football.
He was dominating at the University of Michigan and even won the Heisman Trophy over Peyton Manning.
Everyone dreams of going back to their good ol' college days. Even though there aren't any girls in NCAA Football 98, Woodson still enjoys going back in time and playing both sides of the ball.
Haloti Ngata, DT
17 of 25Game: Tony Hawk's Pro Skater
Listen, the only way I ever become a professional football player is if 92 percent of men disappear off the face of the Earth (I say 92 percent because I believe I am only more athletically gifted than eight percent of all men).
The only way Haloti Ngata ever pulls a 360 on a skateboard is in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater.
Everyone wants to do something that they have never done before.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater allows Nagati to do the impossible.
Nnamdi Asomugha, CB
18 of 25Game: The Sims
How good is Nnamdi Asomugha at life?
He is one of the top cornerbacks in the NFL and he is also quite the philanthropist. Asomugha is so good at life that he literally needs a second life.
The Sims gives him that second life.
Whether that life is lived as a doctor or a lawyer, I'm not sure, but whatever life he did choose, he is probably excellent at it.
Clay Matthews, LB
19 of 25Game: Cabela's Dangerous Hunts 2011
Hunting bears and other dangerous animals seems right up Clay Matthews alley.
If I had to place a bet on either The Claymaker or a grizzly, I put $100 on Matthews.
The only problem I have with this is that if Matthews was hunting these animals, he wouldn't use a gun.
He would go after these animals with his bare hands, and he wouldn't lose either.
Michael Vick, QB
20 of 25Game: Nintendogs
Michael Vick is cleaning up his image and what better way to complete that process than by playing Nintendogs.
Now I've personally never played this game, but from what I hear, it is absolutely adorable.
He might not actually own a real dog anymore, but this is the next best thing.
James Harrison, LB
21 of 25Game: Mortal Kombat
James Harrison isn't interested in just hurting opposing players. He is interested in completely destroying those players.
If he had the ability to tackle people by shooting a chained spear from his wrist, we all know Harrison would do it in a heartbeat.
I wonder how much Roger Goodell would fine him for that tackle?
Antonio Gates, TE
22 of 25Game: NBA Jam
As the most athletically-gifted tight end of all time, Antonio Gates has the ability to do things that we never thought a tight end could do.
He was also a basketball player and what better way to pass the time than by doing the impossible on the basketball court.
NBA Jam allows Gates to be a highflyer and do something he can never do on a football field—be on fire.
Patrick Willis, LB
23 of 25Game: Madden 11
Patrick Willis is so good at football that he must think about it 24/7.
He must dream about football, eat football and when he plays video games, he plays football.
Who do you think Willis has play quarterback for his team? Alex Smith or Troy Smith?
He probably does an illegal trade to grab Tom Brady, so the San Francisco 49ers actually have a chance.
Roddy White, WR
24 of 25Game: MLB The Show 11
Did you know that Roddy White was a fantastic baseball player in high school? Well, neither did I until I did a little research.
He probably spends some nights wondering if he would have been as good at baseball as he is at football.
After the Atlanta Falcons lost to the Green Bay Packers in last year's playoffs, I bet White spent hours on MLB The Show.
Unfortunately, he got drafted by the Chicago Cubs and had to lose repeatedly to the Milwaukee Brewers.
White must hate everything Wisconsin.
Arian Foster, RB
25 of 25Game: Dance Dance Revolution
How else do you think Arian Foster led the league in rushing last season?
This entire arcade game is literally in his basement for offseason training.
Next time you watch him run, turn on some crazy techno-dance music, and it will all make sense.
