New York Yankees: Freddy Garcia Has Leg Up on 4th Spot in Rotation
Freddy Garcia has a leg up for the New York Yankees' No. 4 starter spot, but competition is wide open for No. 5.
This was a pretty safe assumption before Heyman reported it. Garcia may not be the pitcher he once was, but he has pitched more innings in the majors than any of the other candidates for the Yankees’ open spots. It makes sense they would be more likely to go with him in the rotation.

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
Ivan Nova probably is the next most likely to win a rotation spot, but the Yankees could choose to use him as a reliever at first or send him back down to the minors for a little while. A lot of that depends on how well Bartolo Colon pitches.
Sergio Mitre and minor leaguers Hector Noesi, Andrew Brackman and David Phelps are the other options at this point.
