NFL Offseason Rumors: Plaxico Burress Wants To Play for the Miami Dolphins
The 2011 NFL off season is in full swing, with constant speculation regarding the NFL Draft and free agency.
One of the biggest topics this off season will be the return of Plaxico Burress, who has missed two seasons of football due to jail time.
When Burress is released from prison in June, there are going to be a handful of teams interested in the troubled receiver.
Who will be in the running for his services? Apparently Burress would prefer to play for the Miami Dolphins.
According to Ralph Vacchiano of The New York Daily News, Plaxico Burress does not want to return from the New York Giants.
The media there would put him in an uncomfortable position time and time again, so it would be better to move on to a new team.
One source told Vacchiano Burress would like to play in a warm weather city, preferably near his home in Miami.
Could Burress become a Miami Dolphin this off season? There has been speculation that the Dolphins could show interest.
Adding Burress could do wonders for the offense. With Brandon Marshall already the number one receiver, adding another top receiver at a cheap price could create a great balanced attack for the offense.
However, a few questions still need to be answered. Would Brandon Marshall be satisfied sharing the ball with another good receiver?
Also, the quarterback situation needs to be cleared up. Whether its Chad Henne leading this team in 2011 or another veteran quarterback, the Dolphins need to make it known what direction they are going in.
If Burress is indeed a part of the Miami Dolphins in the upcoming season, it will make the AFC East race that more open.
