Baltimore Ravens Rumors: Cam Cameron's Job Security in Question?

Coming off the loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, speculation involving the Baltimore Ravens has begun regarding the job status of offensive coordinator Cam Cameron.

The Baltimore Ravens offense ended the 2010-2011 season unable to live to the hype they were given earlier in the season.

Much of the anger from the media and the Ravens fanbase has been to Cam Cameron, who's conservative play calling and inability to use the talent effectively at times held the offense back throughout the season.

Now, Cameron will have to deal with tons of speculation about his future in Baltimore. Many media outlets, including ProFootballTalk, believe Cam will return according to John Harbaugh.

In the Ravens press conference on Monday, Harbaugh noted he has confidence in Cam's abilities and says he will return as offensive coordinator of the Ravens.

Quarterback Joe Flacco, center Matt Birk, and receiver Derrick Mason said they would be " shocked" if Cam was fired.

However, we can't take all of this for granted. 105.7 the fan in Baltimore reported on the air that Cam Cameron will be looking at other opening coordinator positions around the league, and the Ravens will take a look at the hot targets available.

Former Vikings head coach Brad Childress and Broncos head coach Josh McDaniels seem to be the names that are grabbing the most attention from the media in Baltimore, but we have no idea if those are names the Ravens are interested in.

Baltimore Sun columnist Mike Preston said it best on 105.7 the fan. Until he hears word from owner Steve Bisciotti on the future of Cam Cameron, he is not buying Harbaugh's comments or any of the reports that Cam is staying or is on his way out.

It is clear some changes will be done in Baltimore. Whether it's changes on the coaching staff or within the roster, it seems it is going to be another interesting off season for general manager Ozzie Newsome and company.
