NFL Quick Picks: Week 4

Josh McCainOct 1, 2010

It seemed like this off-season too forever but here we are already at Week Four in the NFL season.

Already it seems that cream of the crop has begun to rise to the top and pretenders are falling by the way-side.

Still there are some division that I'm just not sure about *cough* NFC Ease *cough*

We also have seen some surprising starts like the Bears and Chiefs, and some disappointing starts like the 49ers and Cowboys.

So without wasting anymore time, let's get on with the picks, shall we.

I know, I just know  I shouldn't do this, but I picking a huge upset here.

The Jets ran their mouths all off-season and then laid an egg in the opening Monday Night game against the Baltimore Ravens.

They followed that up by downing two divisional foes, the Patriots and Dolphins.

Right now Rex Ryan and the Jets are sticking out their chest and pretending they are the Cocks of the Walk, and are over looking the lowly Bills.

Well Rex and his boys are going to get punched in the mouth and brought back down to Earth as the Bills pick up their first win on a last second field goal.

20-17 Bills win, Bills win, Bills win!

The Bengals have been winning ugly, but the key word there is winning, however they'll get their first pretty win of the season over the lowly Browns.

Look for Batman and Robin to have a big day.

Bengals win 42-9.

The Broncos played well against the Colts (for a half anyways) and the Titans seem to be a Jekyll and Hyde team that can't seem to get anything going without Chris Johnson tearing off big games.

The Broncos will control the clock and keep CJ2 off the field as much as possible.

It will get ugly, but Broncos win 20-14.

I've said this many times, one week kicker Garrett Hartley is the hero, the next he's the goat.

Last week's miss that would have won the game is probably still on his mind, luckily for him the Saints welcome the Panthers.

He may have to kick a field goal or two but he won't be needed to kick a game winner or tier for that matter.

Saints win 27-10.

In spite of their loss to the Bears on Monday night the Packers are still the best team in the NFC North and the Lions still are the worst.

Packers win 38-13.

I'm still not sold on Seattle, even after their big upset over the Chargers and I think the Rams will build off their win over the Redskins.

Rams get their second win 24-20.

This game right here has all the makings of a trap game.

The Falcons coming off a big win over the defending Super Bowl Champs, and the Niners getting embarrassed last week, again.

However, my trap game is the Bills and Jets, and as bad as the Bills are, their offense seems to at least be going in the right direction where the Niners seem to be regressing.

No let down in the big A-T-L.

Falcons send the 49ers to 0-4

21-14.

Defense against defense.

Only a true football fan is going to enjoy this game.

It's going to be low scoring and ugly.

If Big Ben weren't suspended I'd lean towards the Steelers starting 4-0, but without him I just don't see Pittsburgh generating enough offense to win.

Ravens take the game, 13-9.

Oakland fans were kidding themselves when the season started and they actually thought they had a shot at the division, or even the Wild Card.

The Texans have got to be livid that they lost to the lowly Cowboys (that's right, I said it, lowly).

This is a big bounce back game for them 42-3.

Does anyone really think the Jags have a shot in this game?

I don't.

Colts win 28-14.

I so badly want to pick the Redskins winning this game in McNabb's return to Philly, but after their secondary was burned badly by Sam Bradford and the Rams how on Earth can I?

Maybe the team rallies around McNabb and get him the W, but as my mom said last week,

"New coach, new quarterback, same Redskins" and she's right, this isn't the type of game the Redskins have been able to win in the last decade and I don't think they will here.

24-13, Eagles.

The Chargers are once again off to a slow start under Norv Turner, tell me again why the fired Marty a few years ago after finishing 14-2?

However they welcome the Cardinals on Sunday and this team has no idea who they are, and I predict they won't start winning many big games until Max Hall is named the starter, which probably won't be too far into the future.

Chargers get back to .500 with a win, 31-10.

Remember when I said a few slides back that in spite of their win Monday Night the Bears are the top team in the North?

Well they'll still have the best record in the North for one more week at least.

In the past this is the type of game the G-Men would rally and come out on top of.  However they don't have their main man who they used to rally around anymore.

He's been working for Fox the past couple of seasons.

Tom Coughlin remains on the hot seat as the Bears shock the world and remain unbeaten.

Bears win in prime time (again) 17-10.

I picked Miami to win the Division this year and boy am I looking pretty foolish right now.

This could be a bounce back game for them, but the Patriots' offense is just too good, and I've seen nothing from the Dolphins' offense that makes me think they'll be able to keep pace.

Patriots win on Monday Night 27-17.

That's All Folks.
