Michael Vick's Latest Saga Proves He's a Lucky Guy
Thank the world, Michael Vick. You're a lucky guy. While this article may prove to be very opinionated, I'll try to prove my point. In 2007, as one of the most highly profiled athletes, Michael found himself as the most talked about athlete, for all the wrong reasons.
In arguably the biggest NFL scandal since Ray Lewis and O.J. Simpson, Vick, star athlete and quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons, was indicted on dogfighting charges. He was sentenced to 23 months in a federal prison. While Vick had other run-ins with the law, this one was by far the most horrifying, despicable, and gruesome acts done by a human who was praised so high.

Why Walker Knew He'd Leave Seahawks
Vick came into the league out of Virginia Tech with superb athleticism. He was one of the first quarterbacks to be a better runner than passer. Dude had skills. Vick led Atlanta from 2001 to 2006. He made the playoffs twice during that span ('02 and '04).
Once the dogfighting case hit, everyone was after Vick. Media couldn't stop reporting everything. Vick had been a role model for every young kid trying to play quarterback. He was also a big impact on young African American boys trying to play football.
During the federal investigation of the Bad Newz Kennels dogfighting ring that Vick was taking part of, Michael confessed to his involvement. This included financing the operation and even took part in killing some of the "losing" dogs.
Once Mike was released from prison, part of his probation was that he was not supposed to be involved in any way with his co-defendants of the dogfighting case. This was all fine and dandy seeing how Mike had Tony Dungy and the Philadelphia Eagles.
Until Mike had a 30th birthday party.
According to ESPN.com and NFL.com, Vick held a party at a Virginia Beach club for his 30th birthday party. According to Vick's lawyer, Larry Woodward, Vick was not present at the time of Quanis Phillips' shooting. Star athletes Washington corner back DeAngelo Hall and Atlanta wide receiver Roddy White also say that Vick was not there and neither were they. NFL commish Roger Goodell and the Philadelphia Eagles organization seem to not care whether he was there or not. Rather, they care about why this even occurred in the first place.
This story is still developing. Why was Phillips at the party? Why did people there have guns on them? Why would Vick put himself in this situation? What happens next?
While these questions will be answered in the upcoming days of the investigation there are a few things we already know. Michael Vick always finds himself in some type of trouble. No one in the NFL is happy. Michael Vick is lucky the police named him "a man of no interest in this case," according to ESPN.com.
