Ben Roethlisberger Up for Trade? I Thought April Fool's Passed Already
The Pittsburgh Steelers continue to deal with the unforgettable offseason as the Ben Roethlisberger case has come to a close from the authorities' standpoint.
Now, it is shifted over to Roger Goodell and the Rooney family. There is no doubt that Roethlisberger will likely face some sort of a suspension.

The Rooney family, proud owners of the Steelers for years, have stressed their disappointment, which doesn't look good for Big Ben.
They traded Santonio Holmes after his third troubling act, which created more embarrassment for the organization.
Now stirring up the sports world, a Roethlisberger trade has not been ruled out, and this has every reporter and blogger coming up with every possibilityāeven acquiring the No. 1 overall pick from the St. Louis Rams.
I have even heard of articles suggesting the Buffalo Bills and Oakland Raiders could be interested.
Despite the very surprising 2010Ā NFL offseason, we are witnessing insanity; Roethlisberger will not be tradedĀ for now, and thus the rumors need to stop.
Look, the Rooneys have every right to be upset with Roethlisberger. If a third incident occurs, he is more than likely gone.
But, a deal will not happen now, not during draft week.
First off, despite his success as a quarterback, is a team willing to take him and his long-term contract?
Maybe Al Davis could be crazy enough to, but if he didn't get McNabb (he could have had him if he wanted to), I can't see him getting Roethlisberger.
The other two teams are struggling franchises as it is. The last thing they would need is a major hit to their alreadyĀ damaged PR.
Besides, who would match their price right now? Roethlisberger certainly won't go for a fifth round, but a first-round pick (maybe two), and other picks.
So let's recap. A team is going to trade for a quarterback who hasĀ six years left on his deal, and a huge signing bonus? Also include his latest incident, which will make him similar to a Mike Vick situation when he returned last year.
Plus, the large asking price that will go with it.
So Steelers fans, this is probably the only time we ever agree on something, but I'm with you. I don't think Roethlisberger should be traded right now, nor will he be traded anytime soon, until he has trouble with the law once more.
