Kurt Warner Retires, Why the Arizona Cardinals Should Now Draft Tim Tebow
The official retirement of soon-to-be Hall Of Famer Kurt Warner did leave some open hearts but not much surprise. After pondering retirement for quite a few seasons now, Warner decided to hang up the cleats amid multiple head injuries sustained this season.
The question now turns to the Arizona Cardinals' future at quarterback. Rumors involving trade and free agency have hit the Cardinals since the report of Warner's retirement a few days ago.
With Brett Favre, Donovan McNabb, even Mike Vick somehow in the mix, there is a big question surrounding the quarterback position.

Most likely, however, Matt Leinart, the former top 10 selection, will receive his last chance to prove that he can be either a starting quarterback in this league or that the bust label can be put on him.
Overall, I am not impressed with his ability to be the future of the Cardinals. From his arm strength to just his overall mobility in the pocket, I see it as a potential disaster for the Cardinals, even with the weapons around him.
Look, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt of not seeing much playing time in the past year or so. It wouldn't shock me, though, if Leinart does not even last a full season.
If Leinart isn't the option, where should the Cardinals turn? The draft perhaps? Certainly they won't draft one in the first round, but if the former Heisman winner Tim Tebow is available, why not take a grab at him?
From ESPN to USA Today, and even on football blogs around the world, the draft talk is all about Tebow, who in some cases may not be a first round pick.
From watching the college level, we know Tebow has the talent and heart and determination to find success in the National Football League.
His glaring weakness is his throwing motion, but if he lands with the right coaching staff, this problem can be turned around with good development.
In my opinion, Tebow's best options in drafted are in being mentored by the best quarterbacks in the league: Peyton Manning and/or Tom Brady.
However, he can really start on a high note with Arizona because of the weapons he has on the offensive side.
With Larry Fitzgerald, Anquan Boldin, and Steve Breaston as his receivers, Tebow could get off to a great start in his career.
This could be a very good fit for both Arizona and Tebow. I am confident Tebow won't take the road that Leinart did earlier in his career, which, in the end, probably hurt his trust with the coaching staff.
Tebow brings energy, excitement, and confidence to the huddle, no matter what team he is with.
With the road to the NFL Draft just a few months away, maybe we will see an interest from the Cardinals in Tebow, which could benefit them in the long run.
