Adrian Peterson Reportedly Leaves Patriots Visit Without Contract Offer
Adrian Peterson won't be joining the New England Patriots just yet.
According to Field Yates of ESPN, the free-agent running back finished his visit with the team Monday and will leave without signing a contract. Yates noted the two sides could come to terms at a later date.
While there has been interest from a variety of teams, the Patriots are only the second team Peterson has visited this offseason, along with the Seattle Seahawks, per Adam Schefter of ESPN.

The 32-year-old sent a message on Twitter two weeks ago indicating he is in no rush to find a new home. He said "finding the best fit and helping a team in a major way win a championship is my main objective."
New England is coming off a Super Bowl title and could use an early-down running back to replace LeGarrette Blount, who scored 18 rushing touchdowns in 2016. Blount is currently a free agent.
Although injuries limited Peterson to just three games and 72 rushing yards last season, he is only two years removed from leading the NFL in both rushing yards and touchdowns.
