Adam Jones Robs Manny Machado of Home Run at World Baseball Classic
Manny Machado has been known to rob opponents of their hits with his great defense at the hot corner, but in the 2017 World Baseball Classic, he was on the opposite end of a defensive gem from a fellow Gold Glover...who just happens to be his Baltimore Orioles teammate.
On Saturday night in a win-or-go-home showdown, Machado appeared to be on the verge of getting his Dominican Republic squad to within one run of the United States by launching a blast to center field. However, Team USA's Adam Jones made a terrific play to bring the ball back and keep his club's lead at two runs.

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
There's nothing Machado could do but tip his cap to his Orioles teammate.
While Machado couldn't cut into Team USA's lead, the Dominican Republic's next batter, Robinson Cano, managed to get the ball just out of the reach of USA left fielder Christian Yelich to make it a 4-3 game—further adding to the importance of Jones' highlight-reel catch. Cano's heroics weren't enough to bring them back into the game as Team USA won 6-3.
