NFL Free Agency 2017: Rumors and Predictions for Top Undecided Players
While most fans have their eyes fixated on the upcoming NFL draft and are still buzzing with excitement about this year's crop of players after the NFL Scouting Combine, it's easy to forget that free agency has begun and there is a lot of uncertainty as to where some of the NFL's best talents will end up.
Some players, like Jack Doyle, Jermaine Gresham and Charles Johnson, have already re-signed with their respective teams and can just focus on getting in shape for OTAs and training camp. But for some players, the future is still very murky.
Moving to a new city and playing for a new franchise can be a tough task for any player, especially if you're one of the best at your position. A new team comes with new expectations, and not living up to those lofty expectations can backfire fast.

Final Consensus NFL Mock Draft 📝

Daniel Jeremiah's Mock Draft
These free agents are taking their time to decide on where they'll end up and for good reason. They want to be appreciated for their talents and be paid handsomely. The only question is which will team will pull the trigger?
Alshon Jeffery, WR

When healthy and on the field, there aren't many wideouts better than Alshon Jeffery.
The combination of size and speed with great awareness when the ball is in the air is something that offensive coordinators around the league salivate over. After all, there aren't many top-tier receivers who can stretch the field like Jeffery can that are available on the open market.
But while it seemed as if Jeffery was going to bolt for a new team when free agency started, a return to Chicago to play for the Bears is not entirely out of question, per NFL.com's Ian Rapoport.
Jeffery has said that he wants to play for a contender, and it's clear that the Bears will not be a contender for quite some time as they are undergoing a roster overhaul.
But Jeffery could still make a lot of money by re-signing with the Bears, and if no other team steps up and gives him a deal that he thinks is worth his time, don't be shocked to see him catching passes in a Bears jersey next season.
Prediction: Jeffery re-signs with Chicago.
DeSean Jackson, WR

DeSean Jackson is still an elite receiver in the NFL, regardless of who he plays for. After being thrown out of Philadelphia, it looks as if Jackson will not be returning to the Washington Redskins this upcoming season, leaving his future in limbo.
While he may not be re-signed, it's not as if he isn't garnering attention from potential suitors.
Playing for the Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers would be playing closer to home for Jackson, but they aren't exactly wide receiver-friendly teams. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, on the other hand, would be an excellent choice for Jackson, who would play with Mike Evans and stretch the field for quarterback Jameis Winston to pick apart defenses and throw passes into single coverage.
Having Evans and Jackson together on the same team would be a lethal combination for Tampa Bay, and it looks like it could happen sooner rather than later, per NFL.com's Ian Rapoport.
Prediction: Jackson leaves Washington, signs with Tampa Bay.
Adrian Peterson, RB

The curious case of Adrian Peterson continues.
Peterson is a future Hall of Fame running back and was the most terrifying running back in the NFL just a few years ago. The question, however, is if Peterson can replicate his past success with a new team on the wrong side of 30.
The answer is, probably, yes. A resounding yes. Peterson is an athletic freak, even as he is about to turn 32 on March 21. He hasn't played much in the past year, so there might be some fear of rust and durability, but any team who needs a running back would be foolish not to pick up the phone and at least enter negotiations with him.
There are, in fact, teams that have expressed interest in Peterson, along with teams that Peterson has acknowledged would be his preferred landing spots.
But here's where things start to get interesting. The Seattle Seahawks and Oakland Raiders would both love to have a player like Peterson coming out of the backfield, but what if Peterson really wanted to chase a ring and be with a team that doesn't have many question marks regarding its present and future.
Perhaps a team like the New England Patriots?
Wouldn't this be just typical New England: It wins a Super Bowl and then picks up one of the best running backs in NFL history. How unfair, right? Well, picking up Peterson could come at a cost, like giving up on the hope of re-signing LeGarette Blount, who might not return to New England anyway, per NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.
This is too early to call a real prediction as the rumors continue to fly around, but it wouldn't be out of the question to see Peterson team up with Tom Brady for yet another Super Bowl run.
Prediction: Peterson chases a ring, joins New England with a pay cut.
