NFL Picks Week 16: Latest Odds, Prop Bets, Over/Under Lines and Predictions
Week 16 of the NFL regular season makes for an interesting dynamic due to a mix of teams that are fighting for the playoffs, have already clinched or are eliminated from contention, meaning they have different motivations.
While a team like the Dallas Cowboys wants to win in order to clinch the NFC East and the No. 1 seed in the conference, the 0-14 Cleveland Browns may want to prevail just as much in order to avoid making history for all the wrong reasons.
Ahead of the second-to-last week of the NFL regular season, here is a full rundown of betting lines and picks for every game, as well as a closer look at the best selections on the slate.

Top Week 16 Picks
Browns (+6) vs. Chargers
The Browns are just two losses away from becoming the second 0-16 team in NFL history, and with a road game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on tap for Week 17, a home meeting with the San Diego Chargers in Week 16 represents their best chance to avoid that dubious distinction.
San Diego is coming off a home loss to the rival Oakland Raiders, and with more focus on where it will be playing next year than on the remainder of the season, it could be difficult for the players to hone in on Saturday's game.
According to Kyle Kraska of CBS 8 in San Diego, Bolts owner Dean Spanos may be readying for a big move during the offseason:
A potential move to Los Angeles has loomed over the Chargers for much of the season, and with the team well out of playoff contention, players and coaches figure to be bombarded with questions about it throughout the week leading up to their clash with Cleveland.
To make matters worse, San Diego could once again be without one of its top offensive contributors, as running back Melvin Gordon's status is uncertain, per theĀ San Diego Union-Tribune.
Cleveland looked fairly listless in a Week 15 road loss to the Buffalo Bills, although quarterback Robert Griffin III showed some flashes of brilliance.
He threw for 196 yards, rushed for 48 and scored a touchdown with his legs on a play that reminded viewers of the RG3 of old.
Griffin has something to prove and needs a pair of big games in order to give himself a shot to be a starter in 2017 and beyond.
That can be said for much of the Browns roster, and with the motivation to avoid the embarrassment of being part of an 0-16 team, look for Cleveland to put forth its best effort of the season against a distracted Chargers squad.
Bengals (+1) vs. Texans
The Houston Texans control their own destiny with regard to the AFC South title and a playoff spot, but uncertainty at the quarterback position could make them easy pickings for the Cincinnati Bengals Saturday night.
After being patient with Brock Osweiler's struggles for much of the season, head coach Bill O'Brien made a big change in Week 15, as he yanked him in favor of Tom Savage while trailing the Jacksonville Jaguars.
That move paid big dividends with Houston coming back to win, and it was enough for O'Brien to stick with Savage for Week 16, according to the team's official Twitter account:
Savage played solidly against the Jags in completing 23 of his 36 attempts for 260 yards and no interceptions, but the third-year man had seen little regular-season action in his career prior to that.
He will go up against a Bengals team that has underperformed this season, but one that still boasts a ton of talent on the defensive side of the ball.
Additionally, Cincinnati is expected to get a huge piece back on offense, as wide receiver A.J. Green figures to suit up after missing four games, per ESPN.com's Bob Holtzman.
The Bengals nearly pulled off an upset over the Steelers in Week 15 without Green in the fold, and his return changes the entire outlook of the offense while giving quarterback Andy Dalton a far greater chance of success.
Savage served his purpose for Houston in Week 15, but he isn't a long-term answer and may not even be a viable short-term answer.
Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis may be coaching for his job on top of that, so he promises to have his team ready to play and win in Week 16.
Cowboys (-7) vs. Lions
After a couple of subpar performances and his second loss to the New York Giants this season, Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott was somewhat under fire entering the team's Week 15 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The rookie answered in a big way, however, as he led Dallas to victory by completing nearly 89 percent of his passes and rushing for a touchdown.
According to the Elias Sports Bureau (h/t ESPN Stats & Info), that marked one of the most accurate showings in NFL history by a quarterback:
Also, per Vinnie Ronca of Pro Football Focus, Prescott was at his best in Week 15 during a season that has seen him perform like a wily veteran more often than not:
While Prescott shut down any talk of getting replaced by Tony Romo, he still has plenty left to accomplish this season, and beating the Detroit Lions would be a huge step in the right direction.
Dallas is just one win away from the NFC East crown and the NFC's No. 1 seed, and it should be able to secure those goals at home against a Detroit team that looked listless against the Giants last week.
Quarterback Matthew Stafford was seemingly out of rhythm while dealing with a finger ailment, and the Lions offense is in serious trouble if he isn't at his best.
Dallas' offense, however, is firing on all cylinders thanks to Prescott and running back Ezekiel Elliott,Ā the Offensive Rookie of the Year front-runner.
The Cowboys have seemingly regained any momentum they lost when they fell to the Giants, and they'll use that to catapult themselves past Detroit.
