NFL Predictions Week 6: Last-Minute Picks and Advice for Sunday's Schedule
The procrastinator can find plenty of success at NFL odds.
Those who prepare all week for a slate of action probably hate it, but access to information able to help bettors against an entire weekend schedule is more readily available than ever.
This is especially the case with Week 6. Tough calls such as showdowns between the Buffalo Bills and San Francisco 49ers and the Atlanta Falcons at Seattle Seahawks make it a difficult weekend to pick.

Last-Minute Odds to Bet
Cleveland at Tennessee (-7)
While almost unfair to say, bettors in need of a late fix can always pick against the Cleveland Browns.
Sometimes the spread is too high. This weekend? Perfection, with the Browns hitting the road to take on the underrated Tennessee Titans.
Underrated because at 2-3 the Titans don't come up much in discussions. But the defense has only allowed more than 20 points twice. On offense, quarterback Marcus Mariota has shown flashes despite the organization's seemingly unwillingness to give him quality receiving targets.
Most importantly, DeMarco Murray continues to salvage his career with epic running. He's carried the rock 93 times for 461 yards and three touchdowns, good for a stellar five yards per carry.
Then there is Cleveland, a team mauled by injuries and winless (mostly) as a result. Outside of Isaiah Crowell rushing for 416 yards and a trio of scores on a 5.6 per-carry average, the Cleveland offense hasn't impressed while scoring more than 20 points in a game once.
Tackle Joe Thomas spoke about the issues, according to ESPN.com: "You obviously don't want any injuries, but you understand they are part of the game. That is why it is important to build your depth on any team. In the NFL, it is not a matter of if injuries are going to happen, it is a matter of when."
The Browns simply haven't built the depth over the years needed to survive a contest and spread like this. At home, Tennessee can control the pace with Murray and actually boasts the versatility needed to put up points if the run actually gets slowed.
Prediction: Titans 30-17
Cincinnati at New England (-9.5)
The Cincinnati Bengals couldn't get quarterback Tom Brady and the New England Patriots at a worse time.
Bettors can't complain, though.
This spread seems large for a title contender hosting a team always making the postseason, but that's the point—Cincinnati has looked that questionable all season. After losing to credible opponents such as the Pittsburgh Steelers and Denver Broncos, the Bengals went out in Week 5 and got blown away by the Dallas Cowboys, 28-14.
There, the Bengals collapsed against a pair of rookies. Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott threw for 227 yards and a score, and running back Ezekiel Elliott cruised with 15 carries for 134 yards and two touchdowns.
The Patriots haven't had any such issue. After winning three of four games without Brady, the signal-caller returned and threw for 406 yards and three scores in a 33-13 blowout of Cleveland.
Not only does Brady look great, LeGarrette Blount boasts five rushing scores, and new addition Martellus Bennett looks strong in the system, having already caught four scores and helping the team to forget Rob Gronkowski has spent some time on the shelf with injuries.
Cincinnati doesn't have the defense to halt the Patriots, nor the offense to keep pace. The latter only averages 3.4 yards per carry as a team, and it's quite clear in hindsight the team made a big mistake in letting receiving targets such as Marvin Jones and Mohamed Sanu walk in the offseason. Star tight end Tyler Eifert will remain in sweatpants on the sideline, according to ESPN's Field Yates.
Per ESPN.com, Cincinnati hasn't won in New England since 1986. It's a staggering number, and it just adds another layer to the thought process suggesting bettors need to go ahead and roll with the hosts big.
Prediction: Patriots 30-20
Indianapolis at Houston (-3)
An AFC South encounter isn't always the easiest to predict because, well, it's the AFC South.
These two sides provide the perfect example. The Houston Texans acted like a team one or two players away from title contention. Quarterback Brock Osweiler arrived on a major contract and has thrown six touchdowns to seven interceptions. Same deal with running back Lamar Miller, who has yet to score a touchdown.
As for the Indianapolis Colts, it's almost as if the organization wanted QB Andrew Luck to suffer again by not adding notable talent around him. He's already suffered 20 sacks through five games while the offense can't compensate for a miserable defense.
If bettors want to bank on this one swinging in either direction, though, the hosts finally figuring it out makes sense. Osweiler hasn't shied away from telling the media the offense continues to improve, per ESPN.com.
"I can promise you the way we study the tape as an offense, the way our coaches prepare us, the way our coaches coach us up throughout the week, especially after games when we break down that film, I can promise you we're getting better every single week," Osweiler said.
Houston's play almost has to match Osweiler's words at this point given the state of the Indianapolis defense. The Colts have let up seven touchdowns to a single pick against quarterbacks and a stunning 4.6 yards per carry to opposing backs. Luck has managed to pull off two wins, but the defense has let up 30 or more points three times—one of those occurrences in a loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
With players such as Jadeveon Clowney pinning their ears back and getting after Luck and his inexcusable offensive line, the Texans shouldn't have an issue forcing a few turnovers. From there, a new-look offense can gather some much-needed chemistry to build toward fighting for a division crown.
Bettors should hop on for the ride.
Prediction: Texans 24-14
