Jose Fernandez Once Asked a Crying Kid for His Autograph

Kyle NewportSep 28, 2016

It's fairly common for baseball players to go over to the stands before a game and sign autographs for fans.

What's a little more unusual, however, is for a player to ask a fan for an autograph. But late Miami Marlins pitcher Jose Fernandez did exactly that.

According to Instagram user @lunchtimegraphs, Fernandez saw a young boy crying in the stands a few months ago. That's when the All-Star pitcher asked if the kid would trade signatures with him.
