NFL Week 2 Picks: Early Predictions for Every Game
Monday Night Football's doubleheader hasn't even kicked off yet, but it's already a Week 1 that we won't soon forget.
From the Kansas City Chiefs coming back from a 21-point deficit in the fourth quarter against the San Diego Chargers to the Detroit Lions squeezing out a last-second victory over the Indianapolis Colts, this weekend had it all and then some.
Next week shouldn't be any different. With a slate of divisional games happening across the league, including the Cincinnati Bengals vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Washington Redskins taking on the Dallas Cowboys, there will be no shortage of good football to watch.

Go Jimmy Go!
New England Patriots fans must be feeling pretty good about themselves after watching Jimmy Garoppolo sling the football around the Arizona Cardinals defense Sunday night.
With Rob Gronkowski out, Garoppolo had to find other receivers to throw to, including Julian Edelman, who hauled in seven receptions for 66 yards.
But perhaps Garoppolo's most important pass of the night came early on in the first quarter when he connected with Chris Hogan for the wide-open touchdown.
Garoppolo didn't look like a quarterback who was starting his first NFL game on Sunday, and he went up against an elite Cardinals defense. Now that the secret's out that the Patriots have a backup for Tom Brady who can compete at a high level, how will they fare in Week 2 against the AFC East divisional rival Miami Dolphins?
My guess is that this game should be a cakewalk for the Patriots compared to the Arizona matchup.
Gronkowski should be back at 100 percent for Week 2, and while the Dolphins kept things close against the Seahawks in Week 1 despite the loss, their offense struggled to get anything going. Ryan Tannehill finished the game 16-of-29 passing for 186 yards and one rushing touchdown.
Tannehill did manage to score late in the game, but Miami could only muster 10 points. How will it put points on the board against a Patriots team loaded with offensive weapons?
My guess is that it won't.
It wouldn't be a surprise to see the Patriots run up the score in the first half, with Garoppolo throwing for a pair of early touchdowns to Gronkowski and Edelman while setting up the ground game for LeGarrette Blount in the second half.
The Dolphins offense will continue to struggle to find rhythm, although I do expect a better overall performance from the running game, particularly from Arian Foster, who averaged 2.9 yards per carry against Seattle's defense on 13 carries for 38 yards.
The Patriots will put Miami away without breaking a sweat, 30-14.
Here come the Jaguars
It's not every day that you feel good about a team that just lost. It's certainly a rarity that anyone would feel good about the Jacksonville Jaguars' potential for the rest of the season.
The Jaguars lost 27-23 to the Green Bay Packers, but they went blow for blow with one of the best teams in football.
Bleacher Report's Matt Miller is right. That offense did look really good on Sunday. But should that come as a surprise to any of us? Just look at who Blake Bortles gets to throw to:
- Allen Robinson
- Allen Hurns
- Julius Thomas
- Marcedes Lewis
And that's not even considering the likes of Chris Ivory and T.J Yeldon coming out of the backfield, although Ivory was out for Sunday's game after being admitted to a local hospital on Saturday night, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
While it's easy to feel optimistic about a bad team finally becoming relevant in the NFL, the same can't be said for Jacksonville's opponent in Week 2.
The Chargers blew a 24-3 lead in the fourth quarter against the Chiefs and possibly lost No. 1 wide receiver Keenan Allen for the season after injuring his right knee early on in the contest.
While it hasn't been confirmed that Allen tore his ACL, the severity of the injury and speculation circulating around the player's knee, per Ricky Henne of Chargers.com, suggest that he will be out for the rest of the season.
Without Allen, the Chargers offense will remain stagnant despite a positive performance from second-year tailback Melvin Gordon, who rushed for two touchdowns against Kansas City.
But running the ball won't be enough against a blossoming Jaguars offense with young players at each position. The Jaguars will rebound off the Packers loss and show the NFL that they are ready to compete for a wild-card spot this season, defeating the Chargers 28-21 in a tightly contested affair.
