Fantasy Football Week 11: Matt Camp's Week 11 Big Board
The NFL never ceases to surprise us. And by us, I mean fantasy football owners trying to navigate through the homestretch of the fantasy regular season.
The Seattle Seahawks knew they were getting Thomas Rawls back this week, and C.J. Prosise just had a solid performance against the New England Patriots in Week 10. Apparently, that was more than enough ammo to lead their backfield moving forward, because they decided to waive Christine Michael, their leading rusher over the first 10 weeks, per Jeremy Bergman of NFL.com.
If you're looking for a more positive surprise, how about Marcus Mariota? Over the last four weeks, he trails only Aaron Rodgers and Drew Brees in fantasy points scored by quarterbacks. For the season, he's the No. 4 quarterback. Who would have thought that a Week 13 bye for the Titans would be such a killer to more than just DeMarco Murray and Delanie Walker?
Hopefully, that ends the surprises that already made this a crazy week, although with the majority of teams returning to practice Wednesday, an unexpected player or four could end up on the injury report.
Here's the first look at my points-per-reception (PPR) rankings for Week 11. These will change throughout the week and up to Sunday's action as we get more information about injuries and limitations, so make sure to bookmark this page.
Top 100
1 of 7
I present my top 100 players (minus quarterbacks) for the week as a way to help determine your flex spots. You may favor a certain position or player over another based on his role and/or your scoring rules.
As an additional tiebreaker, here are the teams I like as a whole this week based on their matchups:
- New England Patriots (at San Francisco 49ers)
- Pittsburgh Steelers (at Cleveland Browns)
- Tennessee Titans (at Indianapolis Colts)
- Indianapolis Colts (vs. Tennessee Titans)

Quarterbacks
2 of 7
Better Than Usual
Ben Roethlisberger, PIT (at CLE)
Last week's loss to the Dallas Cowboys was bad for the win-loss record of the Pittsburgh Steelers, but it was great news if you had Roethlisberger in your fantasy lineup. He had his highest yardage output of the season with 408 yards and three touchdowns on 37-of-46 passing. Marcus Mariota was the only QB who outscored Roethlisberger in Week 10.
If there's an opportunity for Big Ben to keep up the gaudy numbers, it's Sunday's matchup with the Cleveland Browns. They gave up the ninth-most fantasy points to QBs over the last four weeks, including nearly 22 fantasy points to Joe Flacco, who torched the Browns for 296 yards and three touchdowns in Week 10. The Browns are a target each week, and this one is no different, so play Big Ben with confidence.
Week 11 Projection: 290-300 yards, 2 touchdowns
Concerns
Matthew Stafford, DET (vs. JAC)
The Detroit Lions come off the bye to face the visiting Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 11. While all the (negative) attention is on Blake Bortles, Jacksonville's defense has quietly rounded into decent shape and can no longer be considered an easy matchup. In fact, the Jaguars check in as the eighth-toughest defense against fantasy QBs in the last four weeks.
Stafford has done a great job of keeping the Lions above water with his strong play, but that hasn't always translated to big-time fantasy production. In their Week 9 victory over the Minnesota Vikings, Stafford had 219 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. He hasn't thrown for at least 300 yards since Week 3 and has just two games of at least 265 yards in his last six starts. He's a low-end starter at best.
Week 11 Projection: 245-255 yards, 2 touchdowns, 1 interception
Avoid
Joe Flacco, BAL (at DAL)
In a great matchup against the Browns last Thursday, Flacco struggled to find a rhythm early on but wound up completing 30 of 41 attempts for 296 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions. His only two games this season with multiple touchdowns came against the Browns, and two of the four times he threw for at least 260 yards also came against Cleveland.
He'll hit the road in Week 11 to face the Dallas Cowboys. While Dallas gave up more than 400 yards and three touchdowns to Roethlisberger in Week 10, it has allowed 813 yards and five touchdowns to QBs in the team's last three games, so last week was more of a bump in the road than a long-term trend. Flacco has been more bad than good for fantasy, so you're better off looking elsewhere for your QB.
Week 11 Projection: 230-240 yards, 1 touchdown, 2 interceptions
Sleeper
Tyrod Taylor, BUF (at CIN)
Before the Buffalo Bills' Week 10 bye, Taylor had an impressive performance at Seattle when he posted 289 passing yards and one passing touchdown with 43 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown in a tough loss to the Seahawks. Taylor has rushed for at least 35 yards in each of his last four games and has rushing touchdowns in each of his last three.
He'll try to keep the Bills in the playoff hunt against a mediocre Cincinnati Bengals team in Week 11. In their last two games, they allowed the combination of Kirk Cousins and Eli Manning to combine for 698 yards and five touchdowns plus three interceptions. As a top-10 QB over the last four weeks, Taylor should have another productive outing against a beatable Bengals defense.
Week 11 Projection: 235-245 passing yards, 2 touchdowns, 40 rushing yards

Running Backs
3 of 7
Better Than Usual
LeGarrette Blount, NE (at SF)
The New England Patriots travel to San Francisco this weekend for their game against the 49ers, and you can't ask for a better matchup to feed Blount all day long. No team has allowed more fantasy points to running backs over the last month. In the Niners' last six games, running backs racked up at least 170 yards against them five times and more than 225 yards three times.
The willingness to stick with Blount regardless of matchup has been apparent all season. Even in last week's battle with the Seattle Seahawks, Blount had just 69 yards, but he finished with 21 carries and three touchdowns. He's scored in each of New England's last five games and has just one game without a touchdown. If Rob Gronkowski (chest) has to sit, there's even more reason to ride Blount against the 49ers. This could be his best game of the season.
Week 11 Projection: 22 carries, 125 rushing yards, 2 touchdowns
Spencer Ware, KC (vs. TB)
In his first game back from a concussion, Ware resumed a pretty typical workload with 13 rushes for 61 yards and three receptions for 11 yards on three targets while playing 64 percent of the snaps. It wasn't a great performance, but it wasn't an easy matchup against the Panthers, so expectations shouldn't have been that high. That changes this week when the Kansas City Chiefs host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Buccaneers have allowed an average of 104.5 rushing yards, six receptions and more than 51 receiving yards to running backs over their last four games. The Chiefs attempted 40 passes just one time in the last four weeks and would like to keep it that way with Ware as their most important player. Considering the matchup against the Buccaneers, Kansas City should have its way, meaning Ware will come through with strong fantasy production.
Week 11 Projection: 17 carries, 80 yards, 1 rushing touchdown, 2 receptions, 19 receiving yards
Concerns
Todd Gurley, LA (vs. MIA)
Gurley owners knew last week's matchup with the New York Jets would be tough, so when he ran for just 64 yards on 21 carries on 61 percent of the snaps, it wasn't a surprise. What was frustrating was the use of Benny Cunningham, who played a season-high 38 percent of the snaps while contributing 40 yards on six carries and three receptions for seven yards on five targets.
Mixing in Cunningham lowers Gurley's fantasy floor that much more. Even if the Rams lean on Gurley with Jared Goff being announced as the starting quarterback this weekend against Miami, it's hard to imagine an uptick in his fantasy production with the Dolphins ranking as a top-11 defense against fantasy running backs in the last four weeks. If you haven't already, lower expectations for Gurley in Week 11.
Week 11 Projection: 19 carries, 66 yards, 3 receptions, 20 receiving yards
Avoid
None of note.
Sleeper
C.J. Prosise, SEA (vs. PHI)
If you picked up Prosise this week or sometime recently, he's likely in your lineup for Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Now, he's in your lineup with more expected out of him after Seattle waived Christine Michael. With the team's leading rusher out of the mix and Thomas Rawls expected to return to action for the first time since Week 2, Prosise should be in line for a heavy workload.
He was busy in Week 10 against the New England Patriots, rushing 17 times for 66 yards and hauling in all seven of his targets for 87 yards on a season-high 77 percent of Seattle's snaps. While the Eagles have held their last two opponents to less than 60 rushing yards from running backs, they've given up at least four receptions to ball-carriers three times in the last four games. If Seattle's defense takes care of rookie Carson Wentz, Prosise should remain busy.
Week 11 Projection: 16 carries, 63 rushing yards, 6 receptions, 42 receiving yards

Wide Receivers
4 of 7
Better Than Usual
Doug Baldwin, SEA (vs. PHI)
For the second straight week, Baldwin caught six passes during Seattle's win over the New England Patriots. He also made up for a touchdown drought that dated back to Week 3 by scoring three touchdowns, giving him five on the season. He's averaging more than five receptions per game and has been the most active target for Russell Wilson.
More of the same should be coming on Sunday when the Philadelphia Eagles visit the Seahawks. Over the last four games, the Eagles rank fifth in most fantasy points allowed to wide receivers. Other than Jimmy Graham, the Seahawks don't have a consistent passing option, so Baldwin will be busy.
Week 11 Projection: 6 receptions. 72 yards, 1 touchdown
Concerns
Jordan Matthews, PHI (at SEA)
We go from the positive side of this matchup to the negative in the form of Matthews. In last week's win over the Atlanta Falcons, Matthews caught six of 10 targets for 73 yards. He has at least six receptions and double-digit targets in each of the last three games. However, that came against the Atlanta Falcons, New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys. The Seahawks will be a step up in competition.
Because he's been so busy and the Seahawks have allowed an average of 15 receptions and almost 193 receiving yards to wide receivers over the last four games, Matthews isn't a terrible play, but this team is better than those numbers. It held the Patriots wide receivers to just nine catches and 126 yards in Week 10. Matthews is more of a WR3/flex as opposed to the WR2 he's been in the last month.
Week 11 Projection: 5 receptions, 60 yards
Kenny Britt, LA (vs. MIA)
Britt's had a very good season despite one of the worst quarterback situations in the league. In last week's game against the New York Jets with Case Keenum at the helm, Britt piled up seven receptions for 109 yards. It was the second time this year he had seven receptions or 100 yards.
That might be tough to replicate in this week's matchup with the Miami Dolphins. Rookie quarterback Jared Goff is getting the start, and it doesn't come with a huge endorsement or a lot of excitement for fantasy since he took so long to beat out Keenum. The Dolphins have been average against fantasy wide receivers over the last four weeks, but they could make life difficult in the rookie's first start. Because Britt is the top receiver in Los Angeles, you may choose to stick with him out of necessity.
Week 11 Projection: 4 receptions, 58 yards
Avoid
None of note.
Sleepers
Sterling Shepard, NYG (vs. CHI)
Shepard has quietly come on since the New York Giants returned from their Week 8 bye. If you stuck with him, the rewards have been there. In games against the Philadelphia Eagles and Cincinnati Bengals over the last two weeks, Shepard combined for eight receptions, 92 yards and two touchdowns on 13 targets. That's not a ton of production, but it shows he's clearly in the mix with at least 92 percent of the snaps in both of those games.
Life gets a little easier for Shepard and the Giants when they host the Chicago Bears on Sunday. In the last four weeks, only the 49ers gave up more fantasy points to wide receivers. The top fantasy options for the Giants seem to be rounding into form at the right time, so expect Shepard to stay hot.
Week 11 Projection: 6 receptions, 70 yards, 1 touchdown
Eli Rogers, PIT (at CLE)
It's been Rogers, not Sammie Coates, who's carved out a role in the Pittsburgh Steelers passing attack over the last two weeks. If the Steelers are smart, Rogers will keep an active role in the offense. He posted 10 receptions for 145 yards and a touchdown on 15 targets over the last two weeks. Against Dallas, he was on the field 85 percent of the time, which was a season high for snaps.
Rogers has a great chance to build on those numbers with a favorable matchup in Cleveland this weekend. The Browns come into Week 10 as the fourth-worst defense against fantasy wide receivers in the last month. The Baltimore Ravens wide receivers had 16 receptions, 212 yards and three touchdowns against the Browns last week. With Coates still complaining about hand issues, Rogers has a chance to leave him in the dust on the depth chart.
Week 11 Projection: 6 receptions, 74 yards, 1 touchdown

Tight Ends
5 of 7
Better Than Usual
Martellus Bennett, NE (at SF)
The reported lung injury Rob Gronkowski suffered in Week 10, per NFL Insider Ian Rapoport, is bad enough that he can't fly, so he had to cancel an appearance in New York on Tuesday, according to Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald. That could be a problem, seeing as New England's Week 11 game is across the country in San Francisco.
Without Gronkowski, the Patriots can turn to Bennett as their top tight end. Bennett had a better performance than Gronkowski in Week 10 with seven receptions on seven targets for 102 yards compared to three catches for 56 yards on six targets for Gronkowski. Bennett now has three games of at least 100 yards and is second in yardage for the team at 504, which isn't far behind Gronkowski's 540.
This is a situation to monitor throughout the week, but if Gronkowski can't go, Bennett is a clear TE1 for fantasy.
Week 11 Projection: 5 receptions, 65 yards, 1 touchdown (assuming Gronkowski is out)
Concerns
Kyle Rudolph, MIN (vs. ARI)
After catching just one of three targets for a one-yard touchdown in Week 9, Rudolph scored again in Week 10 as part of a five-catch, 69-yard performance in a losing effort to the Washington Redskins. He'll get a stiff test this weekend against the visiting Arizona Cardinals.
The only team giving up less fantasy production than the Cardinals to tight ends over the last four weeks is the Baltimore Ravens. Arizona held its last three opponents, including Jimmy Graham and Greg Olsen, to a total of just 10 receptions, 114 yards and no touchdowns. Think twice before using Rudolph in Week 11.
Week 11 Projection: 3 receptions, 32 yards
Avoid
None of note.
Sleeper
Jack Doyle, IND (vs. TEN)
The presence of Dwayne Allen shouldn't scare you away from putting Doyle in your fantasy lineup. In the last game before their Week 10 bye, both Doyle and Allen were active for the Indianapolis Colts against the Green Bay Packers, but it was Doyle who led the way with five receptions for 61 yards on nine targets, while Allen had just a single catch for 15 yards on two targets. Doyle also out-snapped him 74-65 percent.
When Doyle faced the Tennessee Titans back in Week 7, he lit them up for nine receptions, 78 yards and one touchdown on 10 targets. The Titans remain a poor defense against fantasy tight ends, giving up the fourth-most fantasy points in the last four weeks.
Week 11 Projection: 6 receptions, 71 yards, 1 touchdown

Defenses
6 of 7
Best Options Based on Matchups
Arizona Cardinals (at MIN)
The Cardinals head to Minnesota in Week 11 to face a reeling Vikings team that can’t protect Sam Bradford. Over the last four weeks, Minnesota yielded the fifth-most fantasy points to defenses thanks to 16 sacks, two interceptions, three fumble recoveries and a touchdown. The Cardinals should be the latest team to take advantage of Minnesota’s struggles.
Week 11 Projection: 3 sacks, 1 interception, 1 fumble recovery, 16-19 points allowed
Miami Dolphins (at LA)
The Dolphins would have been a hot pickup for Week 11 no matter who was scheduled to start at quarterback for the Los Angeles Rams. It just so happens that they get the first shot at Jared Goff on Sunday. The Rams gave up the second-most fantasy points to defenses in the last four weeks by allowing 10 sacks, throwing five interceptions, giving up a touchdown and scoring just 29 points in three games.
Miami just went into San Diego and sacked Philip Rivers three times, picked him off four times and returned one of the interceptions for a touchdown. The Dolphins check in as the eighth-best fantasy defense over the last four weeks. Goff and the Rams are in trouble.
Week 11 Projection: 3 sacks, 2 interceptions, 17-20 points allowed

Kickers
7 of 7
Best Options Widely Available on the Waiver Wire
Wil Lutz, NO
In the last four weeks, Lutz has 11 extra points and seven field goals in three games, which makes him the No. 9 fantasy kicker over that span and tied for 10th-best on the season. The Saints head to Carolina for a Thursday night NFC South showdown between a couple of shaky defenses. The less defense played, the better for Lutz’s fantasy production.
